Rumour! It can be spread within seconds. In less than 24 hours the whole school is shocked with the news of her wedding. She

got mad as she merely knows him as a guy from her neighbourhood. That’s it. People got misunderstood of her being nice to

everyone. It is funny to say she is currently dating that tall guy just because they exchange simple ‘Hello’ every time they bump

into each other on street. According to Dara, Lee Kwang Soo is not yet married even though his age already reached mid 30s

and he lives together with his mother. Wait! Talking about his mother, isn’t she one of the famous ajhummas who likes to

spread rumors, gossip in her neighbourhood? She always teases Chaerin that she’d like her to be her daughter-in-law. ‘That

must be her!’ she sighed. Lee Kwang Soo is kinda weird person but he’s nice. Their huge won’t matter either. But all

she knows, she is not attracted to him all, let alone to become his wife.

“Oh you’re home early today”

Chaerin glanced at Dara. She sat on the old red couch provided by their landlord in their rental house. She raised her legs and

placed them near to her chest. She tightly hugged her both knees.

“Ughh...I’m so mad!” she groaned.

Dara already took her seat in front of her. Chaerin who recently got transferred to a new school at this small town around two

months ago was glad to have Dara as her housemate. She was so helpful, friendly and kind. Plus, both have the same passion in

teaching even though Dara taught in different school with hers. Hence, no wonder they can become a close friend after short

period of time.

“Why?”

“Everyone was talking about me. My students, my colleagues, even some ahjummas in our area asked about my oh-so-called

wedding...Nonsense!!”

Dara just let out a small laugh, since Chaerin told her the same story just like yesterday. Just looking at how bitter Chaerin’s

expression today, she can say the stupid rumours about her friend is getting worse.

“I’m being serious!” she rolled her eyes.

“Tell me something new!” she grinned.

“Can you guess who the groom is?”

“Who? Who? Who? Omg.. this is interesting!”

“Lee Kwang Soo!”

 “Seriously? That giraffe? You want to get married with?” Dara laughed at the top of her lungs.

“Hell no!” she slammed hard the table. Dara tried to hold her laugh as she could see Chaerin was truly mad this time. The

picture of Chaerin stood next to Lee Kwang Soo in her mind was tickling her funny bones. Can you imagine their obvious height

difference?

“Ughh stop laughing!” she threw the small pink cushion at Dara.

“Okay..Okay..So, do you know who made up this story?”

“Seriously, if I found out who the person is, I swear I will strangle her or his neck!”

“Do you have someone in mind?” Dara curiously asked. Chaerin just shrugged her shoulders. But she couldn’t help to think this

might be Kwang Soo’s mom’s fault. But it could be Kwang Soo himself. Or someone else. Well, busybody ahjummas are

everywhere here.

“Hmmm..I think..but nah, I’m not sure either” she paused. She didn’t want to finger-point.

“Tell me. It’s not like I will tell anyone. It’s just between us!”

“I think it’s Kwang Soo’s mom”

“What makes you think it’s her?”

“For the time being, she’s my number one suspect. Seriously, she likes to tease me. She praised how pretty I am and she even

mentioned to make me as her daughter-in-law.”

“Hmmm...Maybe... But to think back, she doesn’t know exactly how you feel towards her son, right? So, why she wanted to

create this unsure story that will embarrass herself and her family too?” Dara calmly stated her judgement. Chaerin remained

silent for a while before nodding her head, completely agreed with Dara’s logic.

“Just forget all this, Chae. A rumour is just a rumour. It won’t become true unless it is proven otherwise, right?” Dara got up

and playfully threw back the small pink cushion at her friend.

“Talk is cheap, right? How I’m gonna ignore this? People won’t stop talking and asking. I denied but the just shoved me with

the same question. Ahhh...so embarrassing!”honestly, she sounded so frustrated. In no minute, she slammed her body on the

couch. Why it must be Lee Kwang Soo? Why can’t these people match her with someone more attractive than him? Like,

Woo Jiho for example. That’s her neighbour’s son. But he’s too quite. He never said ‘Hi’ to her let alone got engaged in a long 

conversation even though he lives next to her rental house. ‘Jiho’ she giggled at the thought of him.

“Yah! You were mad and now you’re smiling like an idiot. What’s wrong with you?!”

Chaerin just gave her a stupid grin as an answer. How can she let out the secret about her little crush on Jiho. Dara might end up

laughing at her though. He is a man with career while she is just an elementary school teacher. ‘Dream on!’ she told to herself.

Jiho is a guy with 183cm height, broad shoulder, he's quite skinny but his visual is perfect in her eyes. And not to forget that

cold stare of his can make her go crazy. The image of handsome Jiho in ironed shirt with matching necktie suddenly appeared

on her mind. Only a few times she could see him in that attire as he usually go to his workplace earlier than her in the morning.

When he got back from his office, he already loosened his necktie and buttoned off the upper part of his shirt. How she is able

to know this? Well, it might sound a little bit creepy/stalk-ish/ but she peeped through the window of her room whenever she

heard the sound of his car engine.

“Oh gawd! You’re still smiling?!”

“What’s wrong with smiling?”

“Oh no! Don’t tell me you’re actually likes that giraffe!” Dara cried.

“You’re crazy! Of course not!” Chaerin frowned. Dara sat back on the couch, thinking who might match with Chaerin.

“How about Hanbin? He’s cute!” Dara asked.

“Which one?” her forehead wrinkled.

“He helped you to change your car tyre the other day, remember?”

“Too young for my liking” she boldly beamed.

“How about Beom Soo?” Dara didn’t give up.

“He’s bald. No. Please..find someone better” she laughed, suddenly getting excited with Dara’s let’s-find -love-match-for-

Chaerin game.

“Fine..Hmmm...Madam Woo’s son! What’s his name? Ah haaa..Jiho, right?”

“Perfect!” she playfully smiled.

“Eyyyyy!” now its Dara’s turn to frown but Chaerin just continued her laugh.

“Chae, he studied abroad. An engineer! But we are just teachers with small salary. We are completely on different level with

him. Maybe he’s already has a girlfriend out there. Plus, he never talked to us, not even glanced at us, right?” Dara spoke in

angry tone.

“Hahahah.. Why so serious? I just admire him” her lips curved into another smile.

“But I think he’s kind of arrogant!” Dara rolled her eyes.

“But he’s quite handsome!” she excitedly claimed.

“He doesn’t even know how to smile. Tch..” she beamed. Chaerin just laughed and brushed off Dara’s negative remark about

him. She didn’t care since she knew there was something attractive about Jiho. Maybe it was because of his quiet, shy and

reserved personality. She once accidently saw him shirtless when she arrived and parked her car at the front. Jiho who was

washing his car quickly dashed into his house and went out again with white t-shirt on after he noticed Chaerin was looking at

him. ‘Cute’ she naughtily whispered to herself.

“I should tell Madam Woo that you fell in love with him!” Dara shook her head.

“Please don’t! It is not love okay, it’s just an admiration” she stressed on the last word, hoping Dara would understand.

“Haha..Calm down! I’m just joking!”

“Enough! Stop teasing me” she pretended to be angry.

“Haha..Btw, I’m going to my hometown tomorrow. Do you want to tag along?” Dara asked.

“Sorry, I have to go back to school tomorrow. I’ve got some stuff to handle” Chaerin sighed.

“But it’s Saturday! The whole school is empty tho”

“No, I’m not alone. Sunhwa and Kwanghee will be there too”

“Okay, then. I’ll be back on Sunday at night” Chaerin nodded her head and went to into her room.
