"I am so friken thirsty!" Jung SunMi complained, glaring at her mother who was still inside the bathroom for the past 30 minutes. She pressed the intercom button repeatedly, hoping that some nurse would pick up and give her a glass pitcher of water. After a couple more presses, SunMi left the intercom and slumped back on the pillow. "Being sick ." She muttered and her right to look out the window.

The sky looked very blue and had fluffy white clouds flying overhead. The man-made pond on the hospital park glimmered in the bright sunlight. It was a perfectly beautiful day to be outdoors.

The door creaked open; footsteps echoed throughout the quiet room. SunMi continued staring at the butterflies and bees, jumping from one flower to another. Looking outside relaxed SunMi a bit, though she was still pissed at the nurses.

"Ms. Jung, we're sorry that we weren't able to answer your calls. A technician had come and fixed some of the defective wirings." Kang Hawon, SunMi's assigned nurse, apologized. As usual, she recieved no reply from her patient. Hawon took a deep breath to calm herself. "Here's your water Jung-sshi."

The bathroom door opened and SunMi's mother stepped out, looking very much refreshed from her bath. After closing the door, she took the tray Hawon was carrying and laid the pitcher on the bedside table. "Thank you Hawon-sshi."

Hawon smiled in response, "By the way Mrs. Jung, there's a visitor outside for SunMi-sshi; should I send him in?" At the word visitor, SunMi turned from the window and glanced at her mother then at Hawon. Did she say the visitor was a 'him'?

"Why yes, yes. Send him in please." Mrs. Jung replied; to SunMi she said, "Dearie, be polite and entertain the visitor okay? I'll just run to the canteen to buy snacks." Before SunMi could even argue, Mrs. Jung was out the door. She gritted her teeth and faced the window once more. Me? Entertain?

The visitor closed the door gently, and called her in a firm tone. "SunMi."

Her heart skipped a beat. Could it be? She had seen this moment a lot of times in her dreams; she had faced him in a cool, rational way. Now that its happening, SunMi was frightened to turn around and confirm her doubts.

He called SunMi's name again, this time in a more softer tone, and sighed.

She knew without a doubt, it was him. There's no way he could just be someone with the same voice; the voice she knew so well. Dangit, even his sigh is too familiar.

SunMi took a deep breath, closing her eyes in process. This might be the last time I'll see him. "Come on SunMi!" She encouraged herself and turned to face him with a fake smile plastered on her face. "Hi oppa~"

It was a fake smile. Who wouldn't even know? Myungsoo thought and scoffed at SunMi's poor attempt to smile.

To this, SunMi pouted. Of course he knew it was fake. Letting it go by, she let out a genuine smile, making Myungsoo laugh. "What was that about?" He asked, still chuckling. "Nothing. I thought I could pull it off." Came her reply.

Myungsoo didn't say anything and took a couple of steps forward 'til he was standing  close to SunMi's bed. "How did you know I was here?" SunMi blurted out suddenly.

"Auntie told me." He answered simply, staring into SunMi's large, brown eyes. "Uh, ah, so. Uhm---how are you doing oppa?" SunMi stammered, fluttering her eyelids, feeling very much uncomfortable under his gaze.

Myungsoo, suddenly aware that he was staring at SunMi, quickly averted his gaze to the window. "I--I'm fine."

"I bet you're working harder than usual."

He looked up in surprise, forgetting that he was talking to his ex. "How'd you know?" SunMi rolled her eyes. "That's just how I know you." She smiled. "Don't tire yourself too much oppa. It's bad for you."

And who are you to tell me that? Myungsoo wanted to say. Instead, he bit his lower lip and nodded. His mind wandered to that cold, December night he last saw her.

SunMi eyed him from the corner of her eye. Myungsoo hadn't changed a bit. Sure, he looked tired and weary, but he was still as gorgeous as ever. Plus, he has that y, blank expression he always wore when he's deep in thought. Dang. What am I thinking? SunMi shook her head, her dry lips and propped her arm under her chin. "What are you thinking of oppa?" She had to ask, even though she already knew the answer.

Snapping back to reality, Myungsoo was caught off guard. He scratched his head, trying to think of a good excuse. "Uh---ehrm. You know. Uhh, things?"

"Yeah right. Things."

"Well. If you want to know the truth---" He started, getting interrupted by a 'yes' from SunMi. He shrugged then started firing questions. "Why didn't you call me? Or even text me?" When he saw that SunMi wasn't about to answer, he threw her more questions. "I thought you wanted us to be friends? To act like nothing happened? Why aren't you acting like you told me?"
