Forever Yours...Under the Terms and Conditions of an Arranged Marriage [HIATUS]
≈ Li Hua's POV ≈
Ow, I should’ve taken off my heels…
I winced in pain as I continued to run down the sidewalk.
I dashed down the street as quickly as I could, no destination in mind. Just somewhere other than that restaurant.
I could hear Feng calling for me, shouting my name, but I ignored him. I kept running.
The dim street lights made it a little hard for me to see in the darkness of the evening.
The rain had already soaked my hair, as well as my dress, but I didn’t care.
I began to question my love for my father.
How could Baba even think about marrying me off? Does he really not care about me? I don’t want to see his face ever again. I’ll just keep running. Running until my legs fall off.
With rainwater caught in my eyes and blurring my vision, I didn't notice that the sign on the other side of the crosswalk said "don't walk." That's where I almost got hit.
Since I couldn't see and I was too busy thinking, it didn't occur to me that I should've stopped at the crosswalk. As I ran across the street, I was temporarily blinded by a car's headlights and the screech of tires rang in my ears causing me to stumble backwards onto my bottom.
I lay on the ground in shock. I realized that the black van that was about to turn the corner had almost hit me, barely missing me by a few centimeters. A man exited the van and ran to my side.
"Are you okay?" the man ask
