The awkward tension in the practice room could basically be felt in the air like thick, humid, invisible fog and Yongguk hated it. It’s only him and Jongup now, the others had left long ago, leaving the two to finally get their part of the goddamn choreography ing right.

Sitting on the floor, back leaning against the huge mirrors, Yongguk turned his head to look at Jongup who was in almost the same position, just roughly ten steps to his left. The younger was basically clinging to his water bottle as if his life depended on it, looking way too cute and the way he wrapped his lips around the opening of the bottle every five seconds to take a sip wasn’t helping much either. After enduring the torture for a few seemingly endless minutes Yongguk inhaled deeply, about to say something, but the younger was faster.

“I’m sorry”, he blurted out, his voice shaky and breathy, embarrassement lacing his tone as the fingers of his right hand peeled at the label of the bottle he was still holding and Yongguk couldn’t help but find the younger’s behavior utterly endearing.

“Don’t be”, he said slowly, averting his eyes and staring at the opposite wall, about to say more, but Jongup cut in again, crawling closer until he was sitting right next to the older with an apologetic expression on his face and probably the deepest blush Yongguk had ever seen on a guy.

“I didn’t… mean to g-get up that early and… um…”, the younger lowered his eyes again, fumbling around with his bottle for a second, obviously to gather enough confidence to mutter his next words in a low, shy voice. “I d-didn’t mean to… bump i-into you… d… down… there…”

The older only stared for a few seconds, and upon not getting any reaction, Jongup obviously grew nervous, raising his eyes to meet Yongguk’s stare with a worried, apologetic and flat-out adorable look.

There was a strange moment of silence between them, then something changed in Jongup’s expression, something small and barely noticable, but at the same time something so incredibly important that Yongguk couldn’t help but reach out his hand as if to get a hold on it. It all happened in a fraction of a second but halfway towards Jongup’s face the leader’s mind took a turn and his fingertips barely brushed the younger’s cheeks before he placed his hand on the back of his neck, pulling Jongup close with enough force to have him stumble forward.

He doesn’t resist however, instead his hands find their way to land on Yongguk’s broad shoulders as the older closes the distance between their lips with a hungry kiss, his tongue finding it’s way past willingly parting lips, roaming the younger boy’s mouth with curiosity and need. He was stunned by the fact that Jongup’s bottom lip tasted different than his top lip, his tongue different than the roof of his mouth and he wanted nothing more than to taste every part of the younger until he couldn’t think anymore.

Yongguk doesn’t remember how long it took for them to part again, but judging from the way his chest is rising and falling rapidly, almost at the same pace as Jongup’s, he could tell that it had been long, breathless seconds. They stare again, painfully aware of their position, with Jongup half on Yongguk’s lap, his fingers curling into the leader’s shoulders, clenching into the fabric of his shirt, while the older had one hand still on the back of the boy’s neck, lacing through soft hair, his other hand placed securely on a slim waist to prevent the younger from falling.

Jongup’s eyes were wide, staring at the older as if searching for something in his face, so Yongguk decided to speak up, his voice a pitch deeper and a little hoarse.

“I… wouldn’t mind… if you kind of… bumped into me again”, he said slowly, his stare boring into the younger boy’s. “You know… down there.”

This time Jongup smiled shyly.
