Grounded.
Description
Kris is sick of his job. It's become too much to climb into a different child's room every night and help them solve their problems. The whiny brats don't know how to say thank you, and they're nothing but obnoxious.
Just when he thinks he's done being a Dragon for good, Kris meets Tao, and it's difficult for him to keep his usual distant, untouchable, 'God of the Sky' persona.
Yet one tear-filled night is the least of what's needed to fix Kris' complacency.

Foreword
To a human, the flight from Chongqing to Qingdao would be lonely.
At this time of night, it’s dark, and there’s nothing to be seen on the ground besides scattered metropolitan lights. Except for the occasional sonic boom or passing plane, the air is thick with a silence that humans are unaccustomed to enduring alone. Hovering in the air with nothing but their thoughts could bring a human to discover emotions and attachments they didn’t know they possessed.
Humans would need social contact if they had wings of their own.
These flights are one of the many reasons Kris is glad he’s not human.
To Kris, the flight from Chongqing to Qingdao is nothing but tedious and mind-numbing.
