Looks can be deceiving, especially when you can't even see

An unexpected treat

Giving a lecture to a bunch of students who do not want to be taught by another student is very tiring. You didn't have to see to know that they were messing around, half not even listening to a word you say. Some were listening to music, others on their laptops. But what can you do? You think they would respect you enough because of your condition but after being in your second year of college you find that they quickly stop caring. Which is some ways is a relief because they don't treat you differently, but then at some moments you wished that they would at least listen. You were blind not dumb. Thats one of the reasons why the teachers asked you to help them so much. Most of the time you would translate lectures for international students, sometimes for companies or for even the school staff.

Being a foreigner yourself you had to learn a couple of languages and you were thankful you had, it sure pays off. With each of these little jobs, you got payed. You got to wear business suits, though its not like you could see what you looked like, and you got to meet lots of people in the business industry, which is your main degree. Business. Of course there are always going to be some who think you are unqualified because of your condition but that's life, you win some you loose some. Sometimes people just forget how much they have won.

After the lecture the bell rang signaling the end of class, and you couldn't have been more thankful. As the students filed out you began to erase the board. Once done you collected all your papers and put them in a file placing them on the teachers desk. You left a note as you picked up your walking stick from the side of the desk before walking out of the classroom. Since you were done for the day you decided to grab a quick treat at the cafe which was right on campus. Walking down the hallway, your walking stick making a clacking noise every time it made contact with the ground, you smelled the familiar fresh baked pastries as you walked up to the doors of the shop. Feeling the handle beneath your palm you lightly pulled making a ding resonate through the shop. Being a regular you were quickly greeted with the familiar,

"Hey Rosaline!"

"Hello!!"

"Hey Rosie!!"

"Hey guys." You replied.

Folding your walking stick you felt around for the chair you always sat in, which was by the window. You didn't know why but you just had always sat in this seat. Though you couldn't see the sunshine you could definitely feel it and with the light shining on your face you could feel the heat through your cheeks. You silently smiled and didn't even notice that there was a person sitting across from you. One of the baristas came up to you and smiled as she asked,

"Hey Rosaline, I heard you had to give a lecture. How did it go?"

"I guess as good as any other student trying to teach another." You sighed.

"Mmmm. Is that so, well it'll get better." So Jeung replied reassuringly.

"When? When I'm dead?" You scoffed.

"Gotta love your sarcasm." She said, laughing a bit.

"Thanks. I think." You replied.

"So, who's your mysterious friend?" The barista cooed looking at the guy sitting across from you wearing a hat and glasses while she put on a bright smile.

"Friend?" You asked confused.

Before you could say anything else you heard him cough,

"Jeremy." Replying with a deep voice.

"Mmhh. Jeremy, thats cute. Its a foreign name though, you don't seem foreign."

"Just came back from the states actually." He shrugged.

"Ah, a newbie. Well welcome to Seoul University, names So Jeung. Want anything?"

"I'll just have a custard and black coffee. And whatever my friend over here wants." He said, smiling at you.

Turning back to you, So Jeung asked,

"The usual?"

"Umm, yeah. Thanks." You didn't know what to say, you were still dumbfounded about the mysterious person across you.

"Sure, give me a few minutes and I'll bring it over. " She said, smiling at the guy before walking away.

Once she left you quickly turned towards the guy, Jeremy, and apologized,

"Oh my gosh. I am so sorry, I didn't know you were there. Here I'll just leave." You said trying to get up.

You stopped though when you felt a hand over your arm,

"No its alright, you should stay." Jeremy said in english, though it had an accent.

You shrugged but slowly sat back down. Putting your bag below your legs you said,

"Sorry, I usually sit here so I just assumed. You must think I'm rude." You said in Korean.

"No. More...daring." He said also back in korean.

"Daring?" You asked questiongly.

"Most girls usually shy around me, like here. When I walked in and sat, a lot of girls would look, whisper and put on a cute face. But no, you just walk on in, the workers greeting you and you just sit right down across from me smiling with the sun shinning on your face."

Is that how it looked? Oh my gosh, thats even more embarrassing. You thought quickly flushed. You started to do your habit of poking your index fingers together. Noticing your action he lightly smiled, he knew it was a habit of yours before he asked,

"Im guessing your a regular, right?"

"Yeah kinda, I come here a lot after class before I head off to practice." You say sheepishly scratching the back of your neck.

He smiled at your other habit,

"What do you practice?" He asked.

"Dance." You replied.

"Oh yeah thats right." He whispered remembering.

"What?" You asked, not really hearing him.

"Ah nothing just thought of something thats all."

You both sat there silently. Not wanting things to turn awkward you quickly ask,

"You said you just came from the states, where you coming from?"

"Canada." He said after thinking for a second or two.

"And are you coming home, or you just here for education?" You asked.

"Coming home." He replied.

"Well, welcome home." You said smiling, hoping it would reasure him that your not a creep.

With this he began to chuckle,

"Thanks." He smiled.

You liked his laugh, it was..warm.

"So, how do you like it here so far?" You asked.

"Its good. Actually something great happened today." He replied his smile reaching his eyes under his sunglasses, but of course you couldn't tell.

"Really, may I ask what?" You said. You didn't want to sound nosy but you were curious.

"Of course. I met this one girl and she seems great. She has this amazing smile, but I don't know what I should say." He states happily.

"Well if you like her, go for it. It is a new age. Whats the worst thats going to happen, she says no." You state.

"Your right." He said, his voice loosing its deepness.

"Does she seem interested also?" You asked placing your arms on the table and resting your chin on your hands.

"I don't know, she seems comfortable around me." He says slowly like he's thinking it over.

"Well when you see her again, I think you should go for it." You said, smiling.

"I'm glad I don't have to wait then." He smile's back.

"Why is she here?" You began to turn a bit, like that would help.

"Actually she's sitting right across from me." He coughs sheepishly saying.

You thought about what he was saying and once figuring it out you quickly blushed. Have you met him before? His named didnt seem familiar. Maybe he was in one of the classes you gave a lecture to today. Right at that moment someone came up and placed the drinks and food at the table. Turning to you the waiter said,

"Hey Rosaline, heard you gave a lecture."

"Hi Nick. Yeah, it was tiring. How about your test, how did it go?" You ask turning to him, smiling.

Scratching behind his neck he sheepishly said,

"It was hard but I think I passed."

"Lets hope so." You said, giving him a fighting gesture, laughing.

"Thanks. Well I'll talk to you later, k."

"Sure, anytime." You smile as he walked away.

Turning back to the table you picked up your coffee and since it was silent you asked,

"You still here?"

"Yeah." He replies quietly.

"Why are you so quiet?" You asked.

It seems like your the one with all the questions,

"Just observing." He states.

"Observing?" You ask, cocking your head to the side.

"To see how much of a chance I have." He replies back in a husky voice.

"Chance?" You asked.

"Well you seem pretty popular so i'm wondering if I have a chance." He states watching you through his sun glasses.

"I am not popular." You said blushing madly, waving your arms about.

"You just couldn't see the way he was looking at you. Or how all the guys seem to be looking at you."

Quickly taking a gulp of coffee you forgot that it was hot as you yelped,

"HOT.hot. ouch hot." Spilling some on the table.

"Clumsy too." He chuckled.

Grabing napkins you dabbed hoping you got everything.

"Sorry about that." You apologized.

"No worries." He replied helping you clean up.

"I never asked, what are you majoring in?" You asked remembering that your at school.

"Art actually." He said.

"Really, thats amazing. What type of art?" You replied happily.

"Sculpture." He replied, quickly saying what came to his mind.

"Really, I love sculpture. Its my favorite, since I can actually touch it." You said chuckling.

"Thats cool." He said, smiling at your actions.

Taking a bite from your cake you quickly smiled, it was so good.

"Like the cake? What is it?" He asked seeing your face at pure bliss.

"Its black forest cake, and it is delish. Want to try it?" You asked once your mouth wasn't filled with cake.

"Sure."

Taking your fork you cut off a piece and put it out what you hoped was towards him, putting your hand underneath just in case it fell. You thought that he would take the fork from you hand but instead he just eats it, smiling as he leans back in his chair.

"Is it good?" You asked putting the fork back down on the plate.

"It's great, especially when I have such a pretty girl to feed me."

You blushed at this and quickly asked,

"What did you get?"

"A custard, you want to try it?" He asked teasingly, immitating you.

"Sure." You replied.

Taking a spoonful he held it out to you taking your hand and placing it on his so you knew where it was. Eating it you leaned back in your chair, chewing thoughtfully.

"You like it?"

"Its good, even better since I have such a nice guy to feed me." You said, smiling back at his words.

"Aha your funny." He said.

"I try." You shrugged putting up your hands.

"And what are you majoring in? Dance? Though you give lectures?" He asked, a bit confused.

"Aha, no. I wish. Actually business."You say taking another sip of your coffee.

"That's sounds like..fun." He states slowly.

"If you like talking to people all day over one subject, then yes fun." You reply laughing as you took another bite of your cake.

"So have you visited any places since coming, which by the way how long have you been here?" You asked once your mouth wasnt full.

"I actually just came back last week, today was actually my first day of school." He replied quickly.

"Is that so, well then there are a lot of places you have to visit."You said thoughtfully.

"Maybe you could show me."He replied flirty, but you didn't catch on.

"Sure, anytime. Do you have a phone? We can exchange numbers."You replied, oblivious.

"Daring, I like that. Sure, I have a phone." He replied teasingly.

Taking out each others phones you exchanged numbers. You were putting your phone away when you heard the door fling open and someone walk over to you.

"Rosaline, I have been looking everywhere for you, and.. who is this?" She asked finally noticing the guy next to you.

"Jeremy, this is my roomate, best friend, and caretaker, Kimmie. Kimmie this is Jeremy, he just came from the states and is his first day of school."

She looked at you before looking at him. He seemed familiar to her but she couldn't put her finger on it. He just pulled his cap tighter over his head caughing a bit before she asked,

"Is he in a class of yours?"

"Actually I ran into him here. He was sitting here and since I usually sit here I just sat down, so we started talking. It was quite fun."You said smiling at him.

"I'm glad." He said again in a deep voice.

"Well I don't mean to cut this short but we have that thing."

"Thing?"You asked cocking your head to the side.

"You now the one with the manager."

"Oh, OH. I almost forgot." Getting up you turned toward Jeremy stating,

"Sorry but I have to go. It was nice meeting and talking to you." You said taking his hand and shaking it.

"Same here. Is it ok if I call you?"He asked not really wanting you to leave, since he probably wouldn't see you again.

"Of course. Anytime you need help or get lost, just call me." You beamed at the stranger.

"Will do."

With this you both smiled as you put change on the table and Kimmie practically dragged you out the door. Once at the door you took out your walking stick and hooked your arm with Kimmie walking across the courtyard and out of sight. Jeremy just sat there watching you walk away. He couldn't help but smile at you. He was glad that he got to meet you again. You were even more stunning then the last time he saw you. You were also super nice and funny. He couldn't help but think about you as he placed the money on the table and walked out the door. Walking across the grass he put his hood over his head ducking onto the bus. Looking out the window he slipped in his headphones and closed his eyes, picturing you. Once back at his apartment he opened the door only to be pummeled by the guys.

"Where have you been."D.O asked patting him on the back.

"Your glad we covered for you."Suho said, putting him in a headlock.

"Yeah you would have been in so much trouble."Chanyeol said tousling his hair.

He just threw off his glasses and hat and smiled dumbly.

"Sehun, why are you so happy?" Baekhyun teased poking at his friend.

"Did you meet a girl?"Kai said wagging his eyebrows.

"Maybe."

Was all he said before getting dragged to the couch only to be dogged piled. He just laughed and smiled, he was glad to have such caring teammates. Going to the kitchen he grabbed a glass of water, his throat hurting from using a deep voice when talking to you. Sitting on the couch, Kai's arm around his shoulder and the rest of the guys lounging he couldnt help but smile at the television screen thinking about you.
