Description

The year was 2009, the first time Joonmyun put a blade to his skin for a purpose other than shaving.

Foreword

This fic... was incredibly hard to write. Hit a little too close to home but... it had to be written. The plot bunny had me and it wouldn't have left me alone until I had completed it.

Thankfully it turned out not to be as angsty as I had originally planned but... yeah.

It turned out a lot longer than I had originally planned as well.

Darn Suho for giving me all these feels.

Suho is actually one of my biases from EXO-K, but he was the one who brought on this plot bunny. It wouldn't have worked with anyone else.

I really hope you enjoy it.

Chapter 1: Your fic is awesome. It hurts me seeing Junmyeon doing self-harm. I don't know what to say if Junmyeon really did that during his training days. Being trainee for 7 years is must be hard for him.
But I'm glad that his hard work is paid off. And I know he's going to be a good caring leader.

Chapter 1: There is a reason why Suho is my bias, and you have captured his story beautifully here author-nim. His struggle, his determination, and his overall 'first and foremost the members' attitude is something that I can relate with very well. Looking back at the MAMA promotions, he was actually one of the first members I noticed. It's true that he doesn't have striking looks like Luhan or Kris, but his presence and his mannerisms are probably what drew my attention immediately to him. Like how you expressed in your story, Suho/Joonmyun has the ability to shine through his kindness and caring for other people. His ability may not be outright discernible in an external way, but it's more of a subtle strength that he naturally shows through the interactions with his other members. The fact that he stuck out as a trainee for 7 years only strengthens my admiration for him as a performer. Only with passion can we become great individuals, and Suho has more than enough potential to achieve that. And that is why Suho will mostly likely remain as one of my main biases, now and in the future.

Also, thanks for sharing your story with us! You mentioned that it struck very close to home with you and I applaud you for deciding to share it with us.
