I remember when it all began, when you looked at me without disgust, before all this happened.

We'd see each other at school, you'd even let me go over to your house. It was wonderful.

But then this had to happen.

I light the match, watching in awe at it sparks into life.

I realized my feelings for you, admitted I was gay, you were ok with that, we were still friends.

But you weren't ok with what I said next.

A stuttered confession, crying, yelling, anger, pain, so many emotions in one day.

I just had to ruin it all.

The match is thrown, the fire starts burning.

I guess this is kind of ironic, fire was your obsession, that must be why I am so calm now.

I bet you didn't think that this would ever happen.

The fire grows, glowing brighter and brighter against my plain old wallpaper, consuming all in its path. Memories of us dissipate in its flames

We were so close. I like to think that you'll feel, at the very least, a small piece of regret but that's just me hoping. You've avoided me since that day, you don't even want to be associated with me.
