Example 01 (Prompt used: One Year Late)

You can take it quite literally, specifically the title. If you take that approach, the plot can be about how Character 1 is a year late for something. It can be he or she came back home a year after the promised date, he or she finds out about a secret that was kept from him or her a year after the secret was formed, etc. The idea is the fact that someone or something being a year late becomes the main conflict or the source of conflict in the story. If you are familiar with the meaning of the song, feel free to let that inspire your story as well.

Example 02 (Prompt used: Dear Mom)

Like the first example, you can use this quite literally, especially the title. The character can be writing a letter to his or her mom or is experiencing a conflict (whether internal or external is up to you) related to the mom. If you are familiar with the meaning of the song, feel free to let that inspire your story as well.

Example 03 (Prompt used: How Great is Your Love)

The song, if I'm not mistaken, is basically about manifestations of the greatness of a person's love. You can use the lyrics to inspire your story, thus turning it into a songfic. Or you can also take it quite literally by showing just how great Character 1's love is for a certain person. What does that love make him or her do? How far does that character go for the one he or she loves?
