One Morning on our pastry class I was tasked to do the mixing of ingredients for the cake that we are going to bake. Then Anna Lou asked me to substitute for her because she had an important call to answer. “Okay I’ll handle it” I replied.

 

Yonghwa saw that I was doing all the work so he asked me “are you okay?” and I replied and asked, “yes I’m okay. Can you do me a favor?” “Okay I’ll see if I can.” he said. “Can you whisk the remaining eggs on that tray? ” “Okay I’ll do it” he replied. He whisked and whisked until the ingredients in the mixing bowl became firm. In every task that I did he always bother to ask if I was okay.

 

Our professor, Chef Jinri Rose got curious and curious so she asked Jung Min Ah, our fellow pastry subject student if something was happening to us. Then Jung Min Ah said “No Ma’am I don’t think that something is happening to them, maybe Yonghwa is just concerned about how Min Yeon was feeling.

 

 

Not satisfied with what Min Ah answered, Chef Jinri Rose approached us and asked, ”do you have a special relationship?” Yonghwa was about to answer but I pinched him, and told Chef Jinri Rose to excuse us for a sec. ”Okay.” she said I told Yonghwa to tell the truth. But he refused to do it and said “no our relationship will remain a secret in this school.” So we went back to Chef Jinri Rose and he answered “No we don’t have a special relationship.”

 

After class, “Why didn’t you tell the truth?!” I objected. “Why is there something wrong with our relationship being a secret in this school?” he asked. “Will you stop answering me back with questions!” I irritatedly said. Then Jae Yun heard our conversation. “What is happening with the two of you?” he asked,”We had a misunderstanding ”I politely answered, “ah I see” Jae Yun said then he called for Yonghwa ’s attention ”Hyung can I talk to you for a sec?  “Okay, Why?” he asked Jae Yun.”Don’t shout at Min Yeon.” Then Min Ah went out of the kitchen and saw the tension that was happening, ” Why don’t you two let the situation cool down first then if the situation has cooled down you can talk about it n a nice manner.”  She suggested. Then Min Ah and Jae Yun preceded to the hall.

 

 

 “You know Min Ah “s suggestion is right we should let this situation cool down.”I said I’ll go home in my family’s house first and think about what happened today.” I added. After two minutes my phone rang,”Yoboseyo? “Annyeong Eonni is Jung there? ”Min Hyuk asked.”Yes He’s here ”I replied. “Wait why is your voice like that?” he asked. “Jung and I had a misunderstanding. Here talk to him” I said. I gave Yonghwa my phone and they conversed“Hey Jung our gig has been delayed, you can still follow us here ”Min Hyuk said. “okay I’ll see you in a minute” he replied. 

 

In the rehearsal studio

 

He arrived in the studio and caught JungShin’s attention

 

Jung Shin to Min Hyuk: what could have happened?

Min Hyuk to Jung Shin: Maybe they had a misunderstanding.

 

They proceeded in rehearsing the line up of the songs that they’ll sing in the gig. After rehearsing, Yonghwa went to a corner the studio and began strumming his guitar. Worried about their leader, Jonghyun told the others that they should him ask him about what is bothering him.

 

 

Hyun: Did something happen?

Hwa: We had a fight.

Shin: About what?

Hwa: About what I told the professor

Hyuk: Why what happened?

Hwa: The professor asked if we had a relationship.

Shin: What did you say?

Hwa: I answered that we had no relationship

Hyun: What?!

Hyuk: What was her reaction?

Hwa: She got mad and irritated.

Hyuk: hmm… so that’s it.

Shin: I think you should tell her that you’re sorry

Hwa: Yeah. I‘ll do that but I ‘ll let the situation cool down first.

 

 

At my house

 

So I went home to my house and my brother greeted me.

 

Bro#1: Hey Sis why did you suddenly go home?

Me: Hey (with a sad tone of voice)

Bro#2: Why do you sound like that? Why are you not in your normal voice?

Me: Its nothing. Don’t mind me.

Bro#3: its not just nothing. Tell us the truth. Did you have a fight?

Me: Yes e had

 

 

 

In the dining room

 

My mom called “okay guys come on dinner is served.”

 

Mom: let us pray before eating.

Dad: Okay guys I’ll lead the prayer

All: (praying)

Mom: okay let us eat

 

Mom: Aren’t you hungry?

Bro#1 Actually mom she is but she just couldn’t eat.

Dad: Why?

Brother#2: Coz they had a fight over an issue.

Brother#4: And what was the issue all about?

Bro#3: The issue was about Jung not telling the truth about their relationship.

Mom; hm… so that’s it?

Me: Yes that is it.

 

 

 

 

After a week

 

On a Tuesday morning I was in my room, in front of my laptop researching on a dish that I would be presenting the next day to the class. I was jotting down notes and information about that dish and then my phone rang.

 

Phone (ringing)

Me: Hello Min Yeon speaking, who’s on the line?

Yong: hello (with a soft voice), I ’m sorry for what I did.

Me: I’m also sorry for shouting at you. But why did you lie?

Yong: I didn’t mean to do that but I needed to.

Me: Why?

Yong: Because I don’t want us being in the “hotspot” just because of that.

Me: Okay you’re forgiven

Yong: Kamsamida. Saranghaeyo J

One Sunday Morning while I was hanging the clothes I washed, to my surprise he was standing in front of me;

 

Yong: hello honey. I missed You  (hugged me)

Me: I missed you too. ( hugged him as tight as I could)

Yong: Come on.

Me:Come On?! Where?

Yong: it is a surprise (he blind folded me)

Me: Where are we going?

Yong: it s a surprise..

 

He accompanied me to an auditorium and seated me on a chair thenremoved my blindfold. After removing my blind fold he went up the stage and sang “Because I miss you” and said I really missed you so much after the day that we had that misunderstanding I would always think about you. After the first two days that we had that I hesitated to call you because I thought you were still mad and irritated of me so I decided to let a week pass.” Then he presented a video presentation as he was singing “You’ve fallen for me”. “This was the day that you have really fallen for me, the day I confessed my feelings for you and the day that I proposed to you ” he said “I’m sorry for all the short comings I have done: I promise to be a good husband to you and a good appa to our children” he added.

 

 

 

 

 

After a month

 

In our condo unit

 

Yonghwa came home to our unit at 2 am

 

Me: Ah good thing you’ve thought of going home!

Yong: What did I do to you?! I’m just too busy with work please understand.

Me: Am I always the one who’ll give you understanding?1 what about me?

Yong: Please understand me because I ‘m doing this for us

Me:…. (buffering)

Yong: Yes, for us ,for our children’s future and also because I want us to have a church marriage, I’m not contented of our civil wedding.

Me: W----WHAT?

Yong: See? Why did you suddenly keep quiet? I just want to ask you, MIN YEON  “Will you MARRY ME again? “  This time I want the lord and the people around us to know and witness my undying love for you.

Me: Y----YES!!!!!!!!

Yong: (Kissed me in the lips) SARANGHAEYO

Me: SARANGHAEYO. I’m sorry for shouting at you.

Yong: I’m sorry too tension in work just got into my head.
