There was that time,

That sweet sweet time,

When you were still smiling,

And I was still there

I was like a sunflower,

I shined brightly.

 

I remember frowning so ever slightly,

You didn’t mention some things,

 

Just like a normal flower,

I was going to have to go.

 

Do you remember the day you asked,

“what does love feel like?”

And I leaned down and captured your lips.

 

I wish I could have captured that moment,

But like you said,

I am like a sunflower,

I just stay in the ground,

I just sway with the wind.

 

It was the middle of autumn when I first told you,

I love you.

 

Then a few months later,

You started to change,

You went away.
