At the age of 8, Lee Jieun's parent got a divorce. She and her mom moved to Seoul where she met her best friend, Kikwang. When she was 14, she fell in love with a guy at school. She confessed her feelings to him and he accepted them, but soon she finds out his real intentions. He eventually breaks up with her  saying "you're really ugly! That's why I hate you!"  Now she doesn't even smile and only concentrates on her studies.

4 years past and now she is 18 years old. She gets accepted into this elite school for students with the top grade along with Kikwang. On the first day of school she was being bullied by the girls in the school. They were saying she had  an unrealistic face. But then a boy in her class comes to defend her. She seemed attracted by his "Baby Monkey"  type pesonality. Everything was going fine until he said, "You Know you're really pretty. You seem really cute. I think I kinda like you!"
