Blood Feud, War of the vampires

Description

A broken family, two kings, two clans. War and bloodshed. A prophecy of a child. It is the story of the journey to survival and the search for eternal peace. Presenting Blood Feud, War Of The Vampires.

Foreword

Prologue.

Here is a brief history and some general knowledge of the vampire world.

For as long as the people could remember, King Yabu and King Takaki had always been at each other’s throats. The once powerful empire of the underworlds was torn into two when the Kings began their reign. One half was known as the Osoreru clan, the other Zetsubou clan.

Vampires are immortal, thus they can live for millenniums. Hence the war between the Osoreru and the Zetsubou raged for centuries, never showing signs that it would ever end.

Many vampires perished in the war. As mentioned before, vampires do not die of old age, instead, they die of mortal wounds and diseases like humans. The only difference is that they can heal fast. A wound that would take months for a human to heal would only take hours for a vampire.

These supernatural creatures live in a parallel universe to humans. The only excess they have to the human world is through a place called Toguchi. It is like a doorway to the human world.

Vampires use that doorway for a few purposes.

One, to feed.
They lurk around the edges of Toguchi, capturing humans unlucky enough to stray and feeding on their blood. It is not uncommon for disputes due to the feeding grounds to occur there.

Two, for servants.
Humans were used for slaves since the dawn of time. Since humans grow old and eventually die, they have to be replaced every so often. When Humans are no longer able to work, they are usually sold to the middle and lower class vampires as food. Only the royals and their court can afford fresh blood.

Last but not least, for their mates.
When the vampire world was created, it a law had been made by the creator. Only those of royal blood need to seek their mates in the human world. Those of the noble ranks, the middle class and the lower class could only look for a mate in the vampire world.

Now, I shall elaborate on the Royals.

Unlike the noble, middle and lower class vampires, the Royals were a very complicated bunch. There were many rules to follow, one of which was to find a human mate.

When a vampire falls in love, they fall hard and there’s no tuning back. When they fall in love, they fall in love permanently with the same person. They will forever be faithful to him or her, and that person only.

Thus once he had hit maturity, which was usually about 300 years, a Royal would set out on an expedition to the human world to find a mate. Once he is successful, he would bring her back to the vampire world and transform her into a vampire.

It is then they would mate and have a child. The birthing process is usually very painful, thus vampires rarely have more than two children. However, the only exception would be King Yabu and King Takaki.

The strange thing about a Royal child was that it was always a Male. ALWAYS a male.

Thus, this strange fact brings us back to our current predicament. It was prophesised when the world was created that an empire would be torn into two. A family would be split and massive bloodshed would follow. However, it stated that eternal peace could only be achieved when a Female Royal is born.

And that is virtually impossible.

All had been well until the death of Emperor Yamahito. Emperor Yamahito was the father of King Yabu and King Takaki who died of leprosy. Since then, the whole vampire world had been plunged into chaos.

Jealous of each other, King Yabu and King Takaki started a battle, one that quickly escalated into a full-fledged war.

One part of the prophecy has been fulfilled.

The wives of the two kings wanted peace, and the only way was to try and fulfil the other half of the prophecy. Hence they bored the pain as they went through childbirth again and again. Altogether, they bore four children each. However, each birth was met with despair and disappointment. Why? Because they were all males.

At the fourth child, both Queens couldn't take the strain of bearing the child. They both died of childbirth. Therefore, the long wait for the children to mature and mate began. A wait that will take centuries and maybe even millenniums to occur.

Yabu had four children, they were Prince Inoo, Daiki, Chinen and Keito.

Takaki also had four children named Prince Hikaru, Ryosuke, Yuto and Ryutaro.

All the children had taken up a mate except Keito. He had yet to find his love.

All eight children failed at the task of producing the one and only female Royal. Now it is up to Keito to find his love and produce a heir. If he fails, the war will go on as they wait for the next generation to uptake this quest…
