“Heechul-hyung! There’s mail for you!” Ryeowook said as he came back from wherever he’d been.

“I get mail every day from fans.” I said as I shuffled to the entryway where Ryeowook was busy taking his shoes off.

The eternal maknae shook his head. “This was in our personal mail. It’s from China.” He handed me the envelope.

“China… That can’t mean…” I turned the envelope over to see Hangeng’s practiced Korean handwriting.

“Is it from Hangeng?” Ryeowook slipped on his pink bunny slippers, which matched Sungmin’s pink kitty slippers. They’d been part of a set that some fans had sent them a year ago.

Mouth agape, I felt myself nod. I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the handwriting on the envelope, and because of this, I nearly ran into Siwon, had he not sidestepped in time. I did, however, run into my door, because I’m just that talented.

In my room, I opened the envelope to see an invitation to Hangeng’s wedding. “Wha…what? He can’t… He can’t be serious, right?” I read through the invitation, trying to find the “gotcha!”, but there wasn’t one. I read it three times before I noticed that Hangeng wanted me to be his best man. “That heartless… aish!”

My phone rang, then, and I answered it without looking at the caller ID. “Hello?”

“Heechul! Did you get the invitation?” Hangeng’s voice came through with the crystal-clearness I remembered from so long ago. Even though I’d heard him sing countless songs and talk in a million interviews, it was nice to know he was talking to me instead of a general audience.

“Yeah I just did. Why? Are you going to guilt me into going?”

“Will I have to?”

“You might. I might not be involved in any Super Junior activities right now, but that doesn’t mean I’m not busy.”

“Please? You’re the only person I want as my best man. I won’t have it any other way.”

“Alright fine. But only because it’s you.”

“Thanks, Heechul. You’re the best.”

“I know.” We hung up, and I flopped down on my bed. After a few minutes of silence, I sat up so quickly that I woke Heebum up. “What the hell did I just agree to?! I’m going to be Hangeng’s best man at his wedding?! Heechul you’re so stupid! Why can’t you just say no to him? Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid! Argh!” I laid my head in my hands, feeling hot tears rise and try to escape.

“No. Stay. If I start crying now, then later I’ll be at the hospital because I’ll be dehydrated.” I began blinking rapidly to stop the tears from leaving my eyes.

How could Hangeng do this to me?
