Joon’s POV

 

          As the warm beams from the sun crept its way through my window, I

 

woke up and sighed. I get to see her today, was the first thought that ran

 

through my mind. With that thought, a smile made it’s way to my face. It’s

 

nice to have a day to look forward to after a tiring week. Last week got the

 

best of me, so I’m glad I finally get to relax. Even though Suzy and I haven’t

 

known each other for long, I’m really excited about tonight. So excited that

 

I’m starting to get nervous. Not many man get the chance of meeting a

 

beautiful stranger, just like I have. I’m so glad I was one of the lucky ones.

 

          I sat on my bed and sighed once more. “Tonight will be a good night,” I

 

spoke with determination. Suzy is definitely going to fall for me. I smiled at

 

that thought… I have~ to make a good impression.

 

          The time now was 11:47 am… exactly eight hours before the date. “I

 

have a lot of planning out to do,” I said, silently cursing myself for not thinking

 

things through before. I need to come up with something super~ romantic… I

 

really want her to fall for me.

 

 

           As I began to make preparations, I became more anxious to see her.

 

The  more excited I got about this date, the more nervous I became. “I don’t  

 

know what I’m going to-”
 

 

                                           !!KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK! !

           Those quick three knocks soon gained my attention, instantly putting

 

 

me in a state of confusion. No one comes to my apartment this early… not even

 

parents.

 

           “Nuguseyo?” I asked in a harsh tone. I waited for there reply, but no

 

one answered. However, when I looked through the peep hole, I was shocked

 

to see that it was Mireu.

 

           “Open up~!” he whined as he knocked on the door again and with no

 

hesitation, I let in him.

 

           “Yo~” I said as I closed the door behind him.  “What brings you here?”

 

           “Well… it’s been about a week since you’ve been to the hideout…” he

 

trailed off as he sat down on my couch.

 

            “Yeah… what about it?”

 

            “Well… rumor has it that you’ve tried to quit.”

 

             “Tried?”

 

             “Nyung,” he nodded.

 

             “No… I didn’t try… I did. I’m no longer going to be apart of that-”

 

            “But… But why!?” he asked with widen eyes. “You’re the only one I

 

look up to there!”

 

              “When you’ve been there as long as I have then you’ll understand,” I

 

replied in a calm voice. “I just couldn’t continue to have a guilty conscious

 

anymore.”

 

              “But Hyung-”

 

              “I’m not going back Mireu, and that’s that. Araseo!? That kind of

 

lifestyle isn’t for me anymore!” I said in a stern voice.

 

              “I really think you should rethink this…” he said in a low tone, looking

 

down at the palm of his hands.

 

              “No… I’ve made my decision and I’m happy with it. Please

 

understand,” I replied, looking down at the floor. I could tell this conversation

 

wasn’t the easiest for us to have. Mireu obviously felt the same. After listening

 

and taking heed to my reply, he just looked up at me and sighed. “Do you want

 

tea?… Coffee?” I offered, but he declined.

 

               “Mianhabnida, but.. I didn’t just come here to beg you to comeback

 

and try to catch up… I’ve came to warn you abo-”

 

                “About Sanghyun and Rain?” I interrupted.

 

                He nodded and sighed. “Ne… Sanghyun is going to be coming by later

 

and ask you for your answer for that mission Rain tried to give to you two

 

before you left…”

 

                I hung my head and let out a sigh. “I know that.” And I did… I know

 

he is coming, I know all of the questions that will be asked and I also know

 

what’s going to happen when I decline there offer once more.

 

                “Well what are you going to do!?” he asked, anxiously awaiting for

 

my answer.

 

                 I looked at him and shook my head. “I’ll handle it to the best of my

abilities,” I replied in a calm voice.

 

                 “MWO!!!??? That’s not a good option Hyung! They are planning on

 

kkkiiiillliiiinnnggg you!” he spat.

 

                 “I KNOW MIR! This much… I know,” I spazzed, cupping both hands

 

over my face. “There’s so much I need to worry about,” I said. I thought I said

 

it low enough for only me to hear it, but I guess I didn’t.

 

                  “What the hell could be more important to than this!? You! Your

 

well being! Your life! EVERYTHING YOU HAVE IS AT RISK!!”

 

                  I looked down and sighed as I sat on the floor. “Don’t make fun of

 

me but… I have this important date tonight and… I don’t know…” I shrugged. “I

 

just want it to be perfect. You coming here, piling on the information, isn’t

 

helping out one bit,” I confessed.

 

                  Mireu blinked twice before actually looking at me like I was dumb.

 

I gave him a blank stare as well as we had our moment of silence/moment of “
 

wow”.

 

                  “DITCH YOUR DATE!!!!” he screamed, catching me off guard.

 

                  “Mwo!?”

 

                  “You heard me! Tell them that something important came up and

 

that you can’t go!”

 

               “ no! I can’t do that to her!”

 

               “Hyung~~” Mir whined. “It’s not worth the risk! What if she found out

 

about the clan?”

                 “Look! You’re still a newbie so, let me explain,” I said, getting up

 

on my feet. “Su?… The girl that I’m dating? She has nothing to do with this. If

 

they come at me head on, they know that the media and everything that

 

entertainment has to offer would get involved quick, therefore, exposing

 

them. They don’t want that happen. They won’t ambush me around her. And

 

besides, I really want to see her,” I confessed shamelessly. “I’m very excited

 

about this date… If anything happens, I will protect her.”

 

                 Mireu did nothing but sigh and shook his head. “She must be really

 

ing pretty for you to be doing something like this.”

 

                 I laughed a little and shook my head. “Aniyo.. She’s beautiful… The

 

perfect stranger.”

 

                 “How old is she?”

 

                 “… 19,” I replied.

 

                 “Aren’t you 23?” he asked with a smirk.

 

                 “Yah! Don’t you have to go and train!?”

 

                 Mireu chuckled a bit before standing up and giving me a weak

 

smile. “Ne hyung,” he replied. “I just thought I should share with you this

 

information…”

 

                 I thanked him for his concern and walked himout to his car.

 

                 “Be safe,” I said as I closed the door. Mireu leaned out of his car

 

window and let out an exaggerated sigh. “Hyung… I insist you reconsider on

 

this date,” he advised with pleading eyes.

 

                 “Everything will be fine,” I assured him, desperately wanting to

 

believe in my own words. I know I can protect her.

 

                 Mireu sighed once more and looked straight ahead. “Araseo…” he

 

replied with a slight nod. “Just know that I’m on your side… ne?”

 

                 I gave him a faint smile and patted his head. “Geulae~. Ita ga

 

bwa,” I said as I waved him off.

 

              

                 Once back in my apartment, I sat and began to think. I couldn’t

 

help but to wonder if Mireu was right as his words continuously played in the

 

back of my mind. Maybe it was too risky. Even though I knew Rain wouldn’t

 

strike in front of Su, I just don’t know what I would do if something happened

 

to her. I must protect her, I thought and I will do that. With all of my might. I

 

really want to see her… There’s no way I’m going to cancel. I’ll protect her .
