I was four when my fu qin and mu qin made me sit strapped to a very uncomfortable chair for a very long time. My ears hurt a lot as well. By the time I woke up, the pain in my ears had subsided and the restrains around me had been removed. As we walked out of the place with many chairs, mu qin turned to me and announced that we had arrived in ko-lea. What was that supposed to mean? Whatever it was, it did not matter. All I wanted was to sleep.

I was five, sitting by the window, on the pink bean bag I had begged my mother to get me, when I first saw him. It was the first time I had seen a boy my age, I was fascinated. Eager to get a closer look, I got up and leaned over my window as far as I could without falling over. Just when I had established a comfortable position over the window and was about to take a good look at the boy, I heard a loud shriek behind me before being forcefully pulled away from the window.
