Just for One Night

Description

"If you judge a book by it's cover, you might miss out on an amazing story."

Foreword

“Please,” she pleaded, “just this once. I beg you.”

Her hands were held tightly together, her expression had one of the most pitiful look she had ever seen. She told herself she will never fall for another of her sister’s sob stories, she refuse to give in. Her face gave no sign of remorse.

“Oh, c’mon,” she whined, “I-I’ll…”

She paused to think of something worthwhile; there was nothing that she could think of.

“Please, please, please, please,” she reverted back to begging, “I have a very important date to attend.”

She ignored her sister and looked down at her hand phone.

“I’m going to be late,” she stood up from her spot and grabbed her bag in a hurry, “I’ll be going now.” She rushed down the stairs in a hurry. She slide her feet into her sneakers and was halfway out of the house when she heard her sister yelling after her. She came to an instant stop and twisted her head back to see her sister come down the stairs.

“What did you say?” she asked nervously.

“I said: If you don’t do this for me, I’m going to tell mother that you haven’t been attending your piano classes,” she said confidently.

“How are you so sure about that?”

With every thump it seemed as though her heart was ready to jump out of her chest.

“Sohyun, I know you use piano class as an excuse to do that “hobby” of yours every afternoon,” she stated, “mother wouldn’t like it once she knows what exactly you are doing in place of taking piano.” Her sister clicked her tongue and shook her head from side to side in disapproval.

Sohyun froze in place; she had no way to reflect her sister’s attack. She knew her sister will tell their mother if she didn’t do what she asked. She sighed in defeat. She slowly stepped back into the house and stared at her sister for a moment.

“When is it?” Sohyun mumbled in annoyance.

“7 PM, at the usual place,” she smiled.

“Why can’t you just not go? Why do I have to replace you? I heard that neither his parents or mom and dad will be able to make it, s-,” she started.

“IF I don’t go, not knowing how he is like, he might go blabbering to his parents about me not attending the marriage date, and if that happens, mother will kill me and I will never be able to see another light of day,” she answered sternly.

“His name is Woo Jiho; second son of the President of the BNS group, one of the most influential corporations of the century,” she informed her, “they own many hotel chains, major shopping centers, and other things. Mother was blabbing on and on about how important this date was, I zoned out after awhile.”

She raised her wrist towards her face and look at her hand watch.

“Oh, I’m going to be late if I don’t get ready now,” in her voice was an apparent tone of joy. She happily made her way back up the stairs.

“Remember! 7 o’clock!” she called from her bed.

“Whatever!” Sohyun yelled back and made her out of the door. She got on her bike and rode towards her destination. Before she would have been excited about going, but now all she had on her mind was a marriage date that wasn’t even for her.

“What am I going to do?” she whispered to herself.
