“There are many spirits that reside in these forests.” The man adjusted himself and sat his son down on his lap. “If you ever need something, just whisper to the winds. They’ll carry your wishes through the forest and the spirits will grant them.”

The boy shifted in his father’s lap, and turned to face the big man. “Does it work, Daddy?” the boy tilted his head. The man let out a laugh, one that was deep and rumbled deep within his throat.

“Of course it does, Youngjae. That’s how your mother and I got you.”
