Kris, a rich merchant of Seoul,was well-known in the town for his kindness and generosity. He was greatly loved by all his fellow citizens  ;but the friend who was nearest and dearest to his heart was SeHun, a young Korean nobleman. Although he came from a noble family, SeHun had a little fortune from his family but he had exhausted his little fortune by living in too expensive a manner. Whenever SeHun wanted money ,Kris would help him; and it seemed as if they had one heart and one purse between them.

One day, SeHun needed money but Kris couldn't lend him so they went to some usurer jew to borrow the money and from there everything started from hatred and love.
