THE PLACE. Our setting is in ‘modern’ times, though not exactly 2012. While there’s technology like cars and cell phones, there are not things like 4G iPhones and cars that electrically. Try thinking modern, but don’t get hung up on the fancy details. Since we are loosely based on the Avatar series (more toward LoK), the city everyone lives in is called Republic city, and it is like a smaller version of New York.

THE PEOPLE. The population consists of benders and non-benders. While most rely on more traditional ways of getting around, non-benders are obviously more into the technologies the city has to offer. With this, bending is becoming more of a hobby than the way of life it used to be.

THE ISSUE. There is a divide in the people. While there is no concrete group (yet) directly fighting for the cause, many benders are starting to feel elite to non-benders. It has yet to escalate to the violence seen in the LoK series, but favoritism and prejudices are already being seen with the off-hand comments of some of the people and even city officials. Right now there is just some unrest and a few accusations of ‘elitists’, but it is expected to escalate soon if the problem is not addressed.
