Kamenashi Kazuya was one of the best men Kitagawa Johnny has ever had. He was smart, modest, a good leader and on top of that he looked handsome as well.

He could select his cases, take other cases from his fellow mates and even drop one of his if he felt like it. But Kamenashi Kazuya never did the latter. Any case he begun, he finished. That’s why, in the past few years, there was no murderer, thief or any person that disobeyed law that was left uncaught.

So, when the juniors seemed to fail their current case, all of the theories they had falling one by one, Kitagawa thought of giving the case to Kamenashi.

That’s why, in a rainy Saturday that happened to be his day off as well, Kamenashi Kazuya was in his boss’ office. Not that he minded. Everyone knew him as the workaholic.

“A junior case?” Kamenashi raised one of his perfect eyebrows, resuming only on that for showing his disappointment. He wasn’t the man to show all of his feelings. Well, he had been, long before, when he was just a kid and had nothing to do with murderers and cases. This job just taught him to keep calm. He needed it lately.

“Typical murderer.” The old man answered. “A stripper killed at a bar.”

“Father?” Kamenashi asked, bored.

“No.”

“Brother?”

“No.”

“Boyfriend?”

“No.”

Experience had also taught him that when a girl that happened to be a stripper and work in a night club is killed, it’s usually the father that wants his little daughter innocent forever, the brother whose name is now associated with a low ranked woman or the obsessive and jealous boyfriend that is at fault. If it’s none of them, then it sure is…

“Then it must be a psychopath that simply enjoys to kill.” Kamenashi answered in the same bored voice. There was nothing interesting.

“They had all those theories.”

“And?”

“And they all proved to be wrong.” The old man answered, starting to be annoyed by the way Kamenashi was treating the thing. “Somehow they are all wrong. They investigated the place, the people and everything seems perfect until you are given another detail that breaks everything.”

“I’ll finish it tomorrow.”

“No.” The man harshly said. “It’s more than the eye can meet. That’s why you are going to meet your partner and start the investigation today.”

Having his calm and moderate character, Kazuya only resumed at frowning a little but a little growl escaped his lips as a barely ‘okay’.

He went out of the office as calm as he came.

Outside he was calm indeed.

Inside he was burning.

He has never worked with anyone. He was independent. People were just standing in his way.

He had a feeling that this wasn’t going to lead to anything good.

Akanishi Jin is that guy that will never do what he’s told. Just because. Outside his work, he was the kind of gigolo, the one all the girls are dying to be with and the one that all the guys would kill to see him far away.

But when working… he was that type of Dr. House. Taking sudden decisions, sometimes – mainly – the wrong ones, having lots of pride, hating to lose, and having his own little obsessions. It’s just that he wasn’t a doctor. He was a detective.

Currently, driving in his expensive car – that he managed to buy with the money he got for solving his last major case – Akanishi was on his way to the L.A. airport. Having his American club music on maxim and driving with an amazing speed, he was singing along with the radio as he was gazing at the blackish way in front of him, color caused by his sunglasses.

Yesterday, he was called by Johnny Kitagawa, his boss from Japan. New case. Hearing that, he smirked. He was forced to leave Japan long ago and now the ones that forced him to leave were coming back to him begging him to come back. Who needs who now?

What a fabulous feeling.

He was sad that he was leaving the exotic beaches and the culture of America, but what could he do? Anyway, Japan had beaches as well, right? Plus, he was going to see his family again since their last visit in the states two years ago. He was going back to his birth place, to the places of his childhood. He was going to see his old friends again for the first time in five years since he left.

At first, he thought that as soon as the case is finished and solved he’ll be back in America.

But as time passed by, the idea of going back to Japan for good was more powerful in his mind.

Nevermind, he thought brushing off the idea. As soon as I’ll see them I will want to come back here, they won’t accept me back anyway.

Just as he was thinking about his friends and fellow mates at the agency in Japan, his phone started to ring. Smirking seeing the caller ID, Jin turned it on speaker.

“Well, hello, Akanishi. Or maybe… Bakanishi.”

“Pi, man! I’m in a good mood so I won’t kill you. This time. Lucky bastard. How are things there? People getting ready the red carpet for me?”

“Not so fast. You might have competition once you step here. A great one.”

“I’m the same as then, Pi. I’ll just crush him and be the best as always.”
