"Happy Birthday Tia! You're finally 21." My best friend Jenny congratulated me.

Tonight we were celebrating my birthday at my favorite restaurant. Jenny, who was two years older than me kept telling me how exciting 21 was, but to be perfectly honest I still felt 18.

"Thanks girl" I smiled.

A little bit later a waiter came and took our order and we kept making small talk after that.

"You do remember I'm moving to Atlanta next month, right?"

"Yeah; which is week after next."

Jenny had gotten a job writing for the Atlanta Journal though a friend who worked for the major newspaper too.

"I've got an apartment all to myself out there. And I could really use some company."

"You know I work all week. I can't just drop everything Jen."

"Girl, we are both young and legal; we could have so much fun." Jenny smiled.

"I'd have to quit my job." Tia looked to her side.

"All the concerts, parties, after parties." Jenny named countless things they could do.

"It does sound exciting, but I need a job."

"Look, I leave Thursday after next. Just think about it, please?"

"Okay"

It did sound exciting, but I didn't want to drop everything here. I just need sometime to think.
