Demi – She is 21 years old and the main character of the story. She lives in an apartment with two other roommates. She is also in a relationship with Jay Park. She met Jay, who lives across the hall, in the beginning of the school year and immediately went head over heels for him. She is very caring and tries her best to look after her roommates, making her the “mother” of the trio.

Yoona – She is also 21 years old and is Demi’s best friend and roommate. She is rather timid and quiet compared to the others and is more of a follower than a leader. Still, she is respected by her friends and is never used or pitied. She is the prettiest of the trio and frequently becomes flustered when guys hit on her. She is also the most studious, but she still knows how to have a good time. 

Chaerin – She is 22 years old and is also Demi’s best friend and third roommate. She is more assertive with bold statements and actions and is more daring than the other two; though, she is not overbearingly cocky. She is the party animal and knows how to make a fun atmosphere. She is very playful with boys and refuses to settle down, but she is not attracted to her guy friends across the hall. 

Jay Park – He is 22 years old and the alpha male of his apartment. He makes most of the important decisions in the group and thinks quickly to take action when there is a problem. However, he is very sweet and gentle, especially around Demi, and he is extremely down-to-earth. He hosts many weekend parties at his place, which is a very hot spot on campus, especially after he won the school’s notable dance competition. Jay's relationship with Demi doesn't stop girls from flirting with and coming onto him, but he is patient and polite with them, especially since Demi is very poised about it.

Youngbae – He is 21 years old and one of Jay Park’s roommates. He is the most physically active one who spends most of his time at the gym or at lacrosse practice. He is very competitive, and you can find him playing a heated game of air hockey or foosball at a party. On the contrary, he is laidback and is always smiling when he is off the field; he is not a smooth talker, but he can surely get any girl he wants.

Taecyeon – He is 22 years old and the playboy of the apartment. He is a part-time model for notable brands like Lacoste and J.Crew during school breaks, and he is the most handsome of the three. Girls easily fall for his perfectly cut body and chiseled face along with his charismatic personality. People are initially intimidated by his presence but quickly realize that he is fairly approachable. 

“Demi, we’re going to be alright, okay? Stay calm and follow Dr. Burke’s plan exactly no matter what. If we fail to make it there in time, don’t come looking for us because we’ll be all right, okay? We will be because we’re strong and brave, and you girls believe and count on us. So, baby, you just have to do this one thing for me. Demi, I love you so, so much, and I can't afford to lose you. Please, don’t try to do anything that will put you in more danger; just run away from here as quickly and quietly as possible. Demi, you got this... I love you”, Jay spoke to me, panting with fear, while firmly hugging me once more before he left the apartment with the rest of the boys. Fear and anxiety swung in the room while I watched my man bravely march out the door with Dr. Burke, Youngbae and Taecyeon. Panic daunted over me as I turned back to Yoona and Chaerin who equally had the same terrified look with manic tears streaming down their faces.  

God… if you’re out there. Please, please… look over Jay and the rest of us. Please… somebody... help us….
