Everything was a perfect walk in the park. There was you and me; together and with a bond that even if the devil wanted to, he could never tear us apart.

But one day, it happened.

That one gloomy, rainy day, near the end of the school year when you and I were holding hands after classes like we always did but this time I was the only one holding onto you…

It’s like your hand was just swinging alongside you as you strode confidently through the school grounds with your knapsack dangling behind you and I was the only one trying to match up to your pace and grasping tightly at your cold hand.

How many days has it been since this started?

The days when you started ignoring me when I call out to you, the days you brush past me in the hallways, the days you started burning my letters with a lighter from your friends, the days you’ve been lying too much that it’s getting obvious you don't want me to care about you anymore.

The days when you started ripping my heart to shreds…

“Hana.”

It was the first word you said after so many weeks of ignoring me and you looked at me with an ice cold stare as you pulled your hand away from my grasp and all around me, your leeching fan girls let out shrieks and laughter.

I knew what was coming. I mean, heck, everybody knows what’s coming when you and your boyfriend suddenly start acting like strangers.

I wanted to cover my ears.

I started thinking deaf people were lucky, but somehow I wanted to hear you say those words. I didn’t know why… I just… I just wanted to end this painful feeling somehow.

“I’m sorry Hana; you were fun to play with but… I can’t keep going out with you.”

I stared at you.

Maybe I was hoping you were only bluffing, even if your smile made me want to scream at your face then. Maybe deep down I was thinking you lost a game to your friends and this is your punishment. But no… you were dead serious.

“Oh yeah?” I smiled back. “Well good. I was getting tired of you too.”

“Is that so? Then we’re over.”

“I couldn’t have said it better myself.”

You turned around and started walking and as if it knew the pain I felt, rain started pouring loudly and I was all alone, drenched, trying my best to ignore everyone’s snickers.

"Bye then."

"Yeah..."

What I said was a lie, well it obviously is, but more than what I felt for you, I didn’t want to show you I was that ‘weak girl’ you saved from being bullied when I first entered this school. I’ve changed and I refuse to let you think I’m just ‘another girl’ you got and threw away just because you got tired of me.

With my blurred eyes, I stared at you, looking at your back as you slowly walked away, holding an umbrella in your hand and your footsteps echoing loudly all around me; as if it was clearly mimicking the sound of my breaking heart.

My heart was shattered but...

If you think you won then think again!

I’ll make sure you regret ever saying those words to me Kim Hee-chul!

One day, definitely, you’ll look back and say ‘I’m sorry.’

And when that time comes, let’s see who’ll come chasing after whom!
