99 Black Balloons ~•ㅇ
Kris ran as fast as he could towards the park that was just down the street from the groups Chinese dorm. He wasn't quite sure if the park he was about to enter was the one that Lay was going to mention, he really should've let the younger boy finish his sentence before bolting out of there, or he should've at least put on something better then a white tank top and sweat pants, but he needed to find Xiumin as soon as he could. He was just crossing his fingers, hoping he was in the right place.

As he entered the park, Kris slowed down from a run to a fast walk. His breathing was heavy and he wanted to sit down but he felt like resting would just be a waste of time. So he leaned forward, resting his hands on his knees and tried to catch his breath before continuing.

Where could he b-

Kris' thoughts were interrupted when he looked to his left and saw a familiar face walking towards him. He immediately stood straight and ran towards that person, not really thinking about what he was going to do or say.

Xiumin walked along the park sidewalk, not realizing that there was a tall man running at him. He was too busy looking down at the half-eaten steamed bun in his hand, not really paying attention to anything going on in front of him. Suddenly though, it had felt like he had been hit by a bus. His whole body just stopped with a hard thud and he closed his eyes tight, bracing himself for the fall that he was expecting happen.

Instead, Xiumin's body remained completely still and he felt something tightly squeezing his body. The front of his face was pressed up against something firm but at the same time soft, slightly moist and whatever it was smelled good. It was a slightly sweet, floral scent. Like vanilla and jasmine, mixed in with a dash of some kind tree-like smell and just a hint of sweat. It was a familiar smell and he really liked it.

Even though Xiumin had no idea what was going, he felt comfortable. He lifted his head up slightly and opened his eyes. The first thing he sees are big, broad shoulders, covered with only a strip of white fabric. Looking slightly higher, all he can see is light brown hair and the side of someone's head. That's when he finally realized that someone was hugging him.

Kris had no idea what exactly it was that he was doing. One second he was leaning over, trying to catch his breath, the next he has his arms wrapped around Xiumin, holding him close to his body. Everything else in between was just a big blur to him. He could feel the shorter boys head move slightly against his chest, hair brushing against the side of his face. The feeling sent shivers down his spine. He knew that was his cue to probably let him go but it was like he was in some sort of trance. He wanted to hold on to him for as long as he could.

"Um...sir," Xiumin said, his voice a little muffled since it was partly pressed up against Kris' chest. He tried speaking in the best Mandarin that he could, figuring whoever it was that was hugging him must be Chinese. "Uh...you...ummm...what's your name?" it wasn't exactly what he wanted to say, but with his limited Mandarin knowledge, it was all he could think of that fit the situation.

Xiumin speaking must have snapped Kris out of the daze that he was in. He took his arms from around the smaller boy and placed them on his shoulders, pulling away from him. He looked at Xiumin, who had a puzzled look on his face once he realized who it was that had suddenly came up and held on to him.

"Duizhang?" Xiumin said, a surprised tone in his voice. He was really shocked. When it came to touching and hugging, he had never really done it all that much with the tall leader. Really, other then Tao, he had never seen many people touch Kris at all. He really didn't know how to react to what had just happened. "Uh...what's up?"

Kris pulled his hands away from Xiumin's shoulders and put them in his pockets. He was scared he would nervously fumble around with his hair or his shirt so he wanted to make sure they were somewhere where they would stay still. "Nothing, I'm just glad I found you. That's all."

Xiumin raised an eyebrow. "I just came out for a run."

Kris nodded. "I know," No you didn't. "I just..." He looked down at the ground trying to think of the best, believable explanation. He then noticed the half-eaten steamed bun in Xiumin's hand, which was now slightly smushed from being pressed in between the two boys. Time to change the subject... "You run while carrying a steamed bun?"

"Don't judge me!" Xiumin cutely yelled out, holding the little bun up to his chest. "It's my motivation."

"Aren't you supposed to eat it after you run though?" The corners of Kris' mouth raised up, forming in to a smirk.

"I couldn't help it."

Kris' smirk grew wider. "You couldn't help it?"

"No! It was staring at me saying, 'Eat me, eat me' and I was like 'No bun' and then it said 'But I'm soft and delicious' so I was like 'Okay' so I ate it," Xiumin pouted. "And now he's all squished."

Although on the outside Kris seemed collected, only allowing that little smirk on his face to show, the adorableness that Xiumin was displaying was killing him on the inside. "Well, how about we go over to the food stand and get you another one?"

Xiumin's face lit up for a moment before he started pouting again. "But I haven't finished my run yet, and I'm supposed to be on a diet. Trainer-nim will kill me if he knew I was eating steamed buns instead of exercising."

"Then Trainer-nim won't find out." Kris' smirk formed in to a full-blown smile as he watched Xiumin get excited.

That's how you should always be. I never want to see that sad, depressed look on your face ever again... Within ten minutes, Xiumin had dragged Kris to his favorite steamed bun stand, holding his hand and skipping the entire way like a kid in an amusement park.

Only he would get this excited over food... Kris walked up to the stand and bought four buns before Xiumin could even blink. Receiving a take-out box, he quickly handed it over to the shorter boy as they began walking back towards the park.

"Here." Xiumin said, taking one of the steamed buns out of the box and handing over to Kris.

Kris lifted up his hand. "No, I'm okay. Those are for you."

"Really?" Xiumin's face lit up. "Duizhang, you're the best."

Kris smiled. He was never one to show too much emotion but for some reason, when Xiumin was around he can't help but show how he's feeling. But he knew there was a reason why he had ran to find him and as much as he hated to ruin the mood, he really needed to find some stuff out.

"I actually need to ask you something." Kris said, his voice having a more serious tone to eat.

"What's up?" Xiumin mumbled, his cheeks filled with steamed bun as he looked over at the leader walking next to him.

"Do you miss home?"

Xiumin swallowed the food in his mouth and gave Kris an odd look. "I guess..."

That really wasn't the answer Kris was looking for. If Xiumin's really homesick, he's hoping he'll talk to him about it so he can give him some advice. After all, he has been in a similar situation.

"We'll be going back soon," Kris said. "So there's really nothing to worry about."

Xiumin nodded. "I know."

Kris was now confused. Didn't Chen say Baozi was homesick...why is he acting like it's no big deal.

"Why're you asking?" Xiumin said, putting his bitten steamed bun in to the container and closing the lid.

Just ask, Kris... "Well, Tao told me that you've been upset lately."

Xiumin lifted up his fist and shook it. "That damn panda."

Kris couldn't help but let out a little chuckle after watching the cute gesture. "He's just concerned."

"I know he is." Xiumin paused for a second. "And you think it's because I miss home?"

Kris raised an eyebrow. "You don't?"

"No," The two boys stopped at a bench and took a seat. "I mean, I do but it's not making me sad or anything."

"Then what is?"

Xiumin looked at Kris, unsure if he should say anything. He hadn't really spoken to Kris about personal stuff before so he was a little hesitant. "Um, well, you promise you won't hate me?"

"I could never hate you." Kris didn't really know any other answer to that question.

"I," Xiumin took a deep breath before continuing. "I kind of like someone."

Kris stayed silent and nodded his head, signaling the other boy that he was paying attention. He was managing to keep his composure but he was hoping, deep down inside, that this 'someone' was him. But he knew the chances of that were slim to none. Xiumin likes girls. And so does Kris, but he was starting to not be so sure about that.

"Actually, I really like this person,"

Kris' felt his heart beat speed up.

"But I don't know- no, I KNOW, that they don't like me back." Xiumin frowned.

Kris put a hand on Xiumin's shoulder and gave it a comforting squeeze, even though the thought of grabbing those adorably plump cheeks and pulling him in for a sweet kiss crossed his mind once or twice.

What're you thinking, Kris? You're here for support, so be supportive...

"It's Luhan."

Kris' eyes grew big in shock and his heart sank in to his stomach. Shocked that the name he heard was a boys but disappointed that it wasn't him. He was kind of hoping he heard him wrong. "Come again?"

"The person I like," Xiumin said. "Is Luhan."

A wave of something came over Kris' body. He wasn't sure what it was. It was like he was surrounded by fire and being pricked by needles while he was getting repeatedly punched in the stomach. It wasn't a good feeling and he didn't like it.

"And I don't know if you heard," Xiumin continued. "But Luhan and Sehun made it official couple of days ago and are trying to work out some kind of long distance thing for when the group is separated."

Since when did Luhan and Sehun get together...what else don't you know?

Kris was having a hard time processing everything that was just thrown at him but he needed to say something to comfort the heart broken dumpling. "I'm sure you'll find someone else." Real original... "I don't know if I want someone else though."

Kris could hear Xiumin's voice slightly break. Just tell him. Tell him you're sorry for not being there for him, tell him you can't stand to see him upset, tell him that Luhan's not good enough for him...just tell him.

"Minseok, I-" Kris stopped speaking as he watched two tears drip down Xiumin's face.

"Can we not talk about it anymore?" Xiumin asked, that same adorable but sad pout on his face.

Kris was ready to talk though and he needed desperately to get what he needed to say off his chest. "I just wanted to sa-"

"Please?" Xiumin interrupted, another couple of tears falling from his eyes.

Although Kris wanted nothing more then to just say everything he had only thought of, seeing Xiumin on the verge of a breakdown stopped him from saying what he really wanted to say.

Instead, he pulled Xiumin in to a one-armed side hug. "Alright."

"Thanks." Xiumin laid his head on Kris' shoulder and rubbed away the tears on his cheek with his hand.

Kris felt some sort of accomplishment. He still had a knot in his stomach but he felt like he was being a supportive leader, which was definitely something he was trying to be. He knew there was some bigger bumps down the road he was going to have to get over though.

"How about we go home, get some rest and then go out and do something to get your mind off of everything?" Kris suggested.

Xiumin thought about it for a minute before nodding. "I would like that."

So I decided to split the KrisMin/SuDO parts this time because together, it would be a REALLY long chapter. I hope you all don't mind. At least tomorrow you all can expect a full chapter of Suho/Kyungsoo lovin' (*^_^*)

Hmm, the plot thickens. Tensions are building and drama is high! I really hope that things will get better (even though I know that with these types of stories, it most likely will) for our couples. SuDO is my OTP and I read this mainly for that, but I am also starting to like the XiuRis drama, even though I am a KrisYeol shipper. Please update soon, you said it would be done by July 18 and it's almost exactly a month since then. ;A;
