You had a sudden flashback in your mind of him uttering those same words, so long ago.
"Seunghyun! Oh my God, is this... are you serious?"
The dazzling ring glimmered through the dim candlelight that radiated from the dining table's centerpiece.
The elation you felt couldn't be described. He wanted to be yours. You had been waiting almost your entire years of knowing him for this.
"With your blessing, I want love to give us the chance we both deserve for infinite happiness."
----------------------------------------------------
"Give me the chance you and I both deserve. Please..."
Just hearing those words now, somehow made it harder to breathe.
Furrowing your brows, you clamped down harder on your bottom lip, willing yourself not to answer him. You couldn't even bring yourself to look him in the eyes yet, as you knew if you did you would be giving in to him immediately. Your emotions were easily read through something as simple as a glance, even more so with him.
He loosely took your chin in one of his strong hands, tilting your frustrated gaze to meet his solemn eyes with a soft nudge from his thumb under your chin.
Your features softened when you witnessed the near-watering eyes of the man you once called fiance and best friend.
It ached your heart to hear his deep timbre shake slightly in the next few words that both surprised you and would inevitably make the decision you were going to have to make that much harder.
"I came back for you, didn't I?"
