‘How To Ace Your Audition’

Audition Tip #4: Always Warm Up Your Voice!

This is another one of those tips that are all-important and worth saying again.

Always do your vocal warmups before you enter the audition premises.

This helps to 'awaken' the full power or beauty of your voice, and showcase your best voice to the judges!

This also helps you to avoid 'cracking' or losing control over your voice during difficult sections of your song.

An extremely useful and simple warmup exercise is the lip trill exercise, which helps to warm up your lips as well as your voice and breath.

Many singers use this warmup exercise, and I am sure you will benefit greatly from it too!

You may also wish to check out some useful vocal training resources to train your voice more, so that you will be ready for your singing auditions both mentally and vocally too!

Lastly, always have a healthy mindset when going for singing auditions or competitions.

Even if you fail to get through to the next round, it does not necessarily mean that you do not sing well.

It means that you are not what the judges are looking for THIS TIME ROUND.

So, do not give up. Try again and again, and one day, you will succeed!

Chapter 11: Any tips for rapping & dancing?

Chapter 11: I was wondering if you have any tips for dancers. I am a dancer and I want to also get better at singing as well; for my voice, I hit guy notes better than girl notes because basically my voice is naturally low. (but not guy voice low) I was wondering if you have any songs that I can sing, if you have some suggestions for me, that be amazing if you could give me some. :) And I look forward to seeing if you put up dancing tips. I have a blog that has me dancing so please look it up :)

Chapter 11: I dunno if u can help me with this... but if possible, i want you to give me some tips and guides on writing lyrics too...

and covering a song is also hard. you know most of the time when weeping we try to imitate the original singer n i know judges aren't really happy with that. i wish you can light up my way on this too.

ps: i dunno about this but i swear i have seen a the same article before. I'm mentioning the first three chapters.

I agree with the chapters. I may not be a singer/dancer/model but I do play violin. It's also very competitve (seat-placement).

I totally agree with the eye contact during your audition! I dance hula and during the beginning we have to do a chant, and since it's in Hawaiian we have to use our eyes and some hand gestures to tell the story and show that we know what it means. We look at the judges as well as people in the audience, and we look and gesture in different places to match what we're saying.
