Goodbye
In the midst of the cold wintry night, we stood in front of each other trying to avoid each others gazes.
Smiles etched on our faces. It was poignant.
Even feigning a smile was distressing.
Everything became blur, you said.
But it was all in your mind. I cannot envisage the facade you’re talking about.
You promised forever, but how come we're facing the end?
Snow started to fall and the wind blew them away. But the sudden breeze did not heal my agonizing heart.
Slowly we grew apart, you confessed. It alarmed me and my throbbing heart. In the spur of time, you wrapped your warm arms around me for the last time. And whisper,
Sayonara.
A/N: Sayonara is Japanese for 'goodbye'; however, it carries more finality. Instead of being used at the end of a day, as in "Goodbye see you tomorrow," it would be used in situations where you will either not see the person for a long time, if ever again. (x)
