Kai’s POV

I stumbled through the door my mind in an alcohol fuelled haze. My parents rushed to the door as I scrambled to grasp at the smooth plaster walls for support only to slide down to my knees. My father stood over me a grimace of disappointment clear on his features. Not an uncommon expression in this household.
“Again Kai?” He said his voice clearly desperate as I began to chuckle. I couldn’t help it, getting drunk had a tendency to make my giggly when people started to get angry. My mother was crying, this was the seventh night in a row that I had walked into the house drunk as a skunk and barely able to walk straight. And it was a school week. I leant close to my mother and she turned away waving her hand to get rid of the rancid stench which would’ve flooded her face. My mother grabbed me by the ear and began to drag me towards the kitchen. I whined and pulled against her grasp but my confused state didn’t help me fight against her unrelenting grip.
“Careful! You’ll pull out my piercing!” I chided and she sighed in frustration.
“JONG-IN! I DID NOT RAISE YOU TO BE A PARTY HOON! YOU’RE THROWING AWAY ANY CHANCE OF A FUTURE YOU HAD ALL FOR SOME STUPID HIGH?!” I looked away, I may have been careless but that didn’t mean I was heartless, seeing my mother cry always nearly made me cry and right now crying was not an option. I huffed and faced my father.
“What does it matter anymore!” I yelled and went to storm out of the room only to be stopped by both of my parents latching onto my arms.
“Kai, there is something we need to tell you about, we were going to tell you tomorrow but since you didn’t come home and won’t be happy anyway tomorrow we’ll tell you now so you can sleep on it.” They both looked away and it was obvious that they had been planning this delivery speech for some time but my entrance had thrown a spanner in the works.
“What?” I asked hesitantly and crossed my arms defensively.
“We are sending you to a boarding etiquette school tomorrow… You’ll be given time to catch up on any school work that you miss and it’s only one month.” I began to laugh hysterically, they were joking right?
“You guys are just hilarious.” I said my words filled with poisonous sarcasm.
“Kai… we aren’t kidding.”
