The Servant With The Red Headband (An Eli Fic)

Description

You (Melissa) are the Princess of Neverland who thrives adventure, but none of the Princes who wish to marry you suit your needs. Long story short, they were all pansies. You wanted someone thrilling, willing to take you on adventures to explore this world.

One suitor catches your ear, as you hear the servants of your castle talk about Prince Alexander of Xanderland. In meeting him and his entourage, you wonder about that one bulky servant of him who always wears a red headband. It takes you days to unlock his stories from him, but once you do, you know there is no turning back.

Foreword

Princess Melissa, the only daughter of the King of Neverland. A tall, sweet girl of 18, always with a smile on your face. Your father loved her adoringly, and you were well treated at the Castle. The only problem was - you were never allowed to leave the Castle gates, that is, not unless you were accompanied by a man. Your father was always much too busy to accompany you, meaning the only choice left was for you to get married and leave. But none of the suitors caught your eye. They were all much like you - far too sweet and kind, and too obedient to the rules. There would be no fun in marrying them.

"Here, Melissa, we have Prince Justin of Kemptland." The King introduced. Prince Justin was a cute boy, with such an eye smile that you had to suppress your own smile in order not to deliver the wrong message.

"Good morning, Princess," he said, and bowed. "I am greatly honoured to be here with you, in the role of a suitor. I can say that back in Kemptland, I have a fine army of 1000 knights, and much gold, to suit every one of your needs."

You sighed. Every single of the 50 suitors had said something similar, and you were getting bored with it. You didn't think about your words when you abruptly said:

"Dad, i'm not interested." You averted your gaze from the Prince in order to not see his hurt expression. But you knew your father was furious, as he was with every single one of your rejections. He took a breath, and addressed the Prince in a side gaze.

"Justin of Kemptland, you are dismissed." he said. The Prince hung his head low, and exited the Castle with the 30 knights he brought with him.

"Melissa, you are now 18, if you do not find a suitor soon, you might as well live as a nun!" exclaimed the King. You shot back.

"Dad, you can't expect me to marry any of these Princes! They do not starve for adventure - only to live the life of eating, drinking, and party!"

"That's all you need, Melissa, safe things to do in the safety of a castle!"

"No dad, the danger of life is it's only thrill. I refuse to see any other suitors chosen by you."

The King repelled at the insult.

"You may go to your chamber; I shall not see your face till sunrise." he said, and with that, he turned away.

You happily hopped down, and headed for your room. In the doorway of the main chamber, you turned around to the King.

"I'd rather marry a servant who thrives adventure than any of those pansies you choose for me."
