Si ad bivium ea accipitur.. - When she gets taken with at the crossroad..
Description
It takes exactly 8 minutes for the first sunbeam to reach the earth. The sky will become brighter and brighter, second by second - from a calming blue shade to an orange circle on the horizon.
The sun shines on the city, a signal for people to wake up, to fill the streets. The quiet night is taken over by background noises of cars, people and horns. It does not only symbolize a beginning of a new day but also a part of my life.
These were my thoughts when my consciousness was regained by the sound of my alarm and my eyes met the sunbeam.
I am Han JiEun and your first person narrator in this journey of life.
Foreword
Sometimes I go through my brain and imagine a random scene. And I really like this scene but it lacked a storyline so I kept imagining for myself.
One day our R.E. teacher showed us a poem by Marie Luise Kaschnitz
(http://ningmengan.blog.de/2008/07/03/ein-leben-nach-dem-tode-4399885/)
which deals with life after death. My friend explained that it has some inclination towards the middle part while I saw rebirth in the last half of the poem. But my friend’s explanation fired the idea in my mind and therefore I decided to create this fanfiction.
I am going to translate the most important stanza of the poem which deals with the poet’s depiction of life after death (I might violate her copyrights :S but no translations are available)
No protective covering rigid of gold
Trimmed with precious stones
A cobweb-light robe
A breath
Me around my shoulders
Caress beautiful movement
Like once by Tyrrhenian waves
Like by words which back and forth
Scraps of conversation
Come you come
This is the trigger. I won't explain the whole link between the plot and the poem since it would spoil everything... Also for the title, I am very sorry that it has to be in Latin but I wanted a special one :
I wrote a few fanfictions back then but none of them were published here - So, it’s the first time ever here. I hope you enjoy the story, comment and subscribe a lot! I apologize in advance for my sometimes stiff and machine-like writing. Thank you!
