Lilith.

Wisps of dark hair blew across her face as she stood by the lake, much like a cursed spirit, with the ghost of a smile gracing her pale lips. It was a grim smile –one of dark irony. It could have rivalled that of Lucifer’s, moments before he fell from heaven. Her eyes, like blue ice, gave colour to the black and white picture; they held the life in her, the last glimpse into her wretched soul.

Her chest barely rose and fell as she breathed; the moisture of the air leaving her lips, forming clouds of mist that lingered moments before dissolving into nothingness.

She was standing on an elevated piece of ground, bare-footed and now with a stoic expression on her face. Her eyes on the surface were impassive depths –they held a glint of wry amusement in them.

She let her eyes wander to the barely moving water, over the trees and to the far ends of the sky; it was as if something inevitable was about to happen –something inexplicably foreboding. She gave a derisive cough.

No one knew what was coming.
