He was special, like an android. Ask him to read your essay and he'll repeat it to you perfectly. Flash him 5 quadruple-digit numbers and he'll compute them however you want. Ask him any history question, and he'll explain it to you in detail as if he lived through it all. He spoke languages as if he were a native in whatever country. Seeing as he had little to no friends, every other student saw him as the type to study in their free time, and read textbooks as a luxury act. 

But, no, Key didn't study.

He was programmed this way.

"Sorry to interrupt, the office would like to borrow Kim Key for a while," a man popped his head into the classroom. The students recognized him as the principal's secretary.

The teacher, Mr. Moon, frowned. "We are having quite an important lesson..." he spared a glance at Key. "But I guess he wouldn't need it anyway," he chuckled. "Does he need his bag?"

"No, that wouldn't be necessary. It'll be a quick talk," the secretary replied.

"Key, the office requests you," Mr. Moon called out.

Key got up from his seat and walked to the door at an average pace. What could they want from him? The secretary bowed and closed the door after Key was out. "Follow me," he told Key, and Key did what he was told, trailing behind the man to the main office of the building.

"Please sit until Mr. Kim is here," the secretary instructed and left Key to go back to his work desk.

'I thought he was already in the office,' Key wanted to say. He silently sat on the soft, high class couch that was placed awkwardly in the center of the huge office. He toyed with his fingers, and sighed to himself. 

Just then, a young man also walked in. Key would have made the mistake to assume he was a student, but he wasn't wearing the school's proper mandatory uniform.

"I'm here!" the guy announced loudly at his entrance. Key raised an eyebrow, and tried not to chuckle at his "grand" entrance. The secretary on the other hand, looked up in acknowledgement.

"Ah, Jonghyun, we've been waiting for you," the secretary got up, and gestured to what Key thought was the principal's room. "Key-ssi, please head over this way," he added.

Key got up to join the stranger "Jonghyun" to walk over to the place that the secretary directed at. Jonghyun opened the door to the room and walked in. Key followed him.

"Heya, old man," Jonghyun greeted. Key stared at him like he grew ten heads and another large nostril. Did this guy want to get suspended?! 

"Jonghyun, sit down," Principal Kim said simply, and looked over at Key. "Yes, Key-ssi, please sit down too," he said, gesturing over the the wooden chair on his left. Jonghyun plopped down on the right.

"Why did you call for me?" Key asked, settling down on the cool seat. How old was this chair?

"Please meet my son, Key. This is Jonghyun," the principal said, ignoring Key's question. Key looked over at the blonde guy and finally understood the "old man" and his "grand" entrance.

"Key, I have an offer to ask you," the principal continued. "I've gone over your grades, and they are exceptionally excellent. You're on the honor roll for all consecutive years and you're definitely on top of the school rank. If it wouldn't be too much, would you, perhaps, find some time to come tutor my idiot of a son here?" he asked.

Key just stared at the older man. Tutor his son? Tutor Jonghyun? 

"I can pay you," the principal added. "I need to keep up my reputation as a principal, and I can't have my son dragging down my image with his low grades." He shot a glare at Jonghyun, who now had earbuds stuck to his ears, and was bobbing his head up and down. He noticed the two others staring at him and removed one from his ears. "What?"

Principal Kim shook his head, and turned back to Key. "What do you say? I would have asked another student, but your grades beat the second rank student by a hundred miles."

"I'll do it," Key said, after a long time of thinking.

The older man gave a sigh of relieve and nodded.

"Thank you."
