Judgment

Description

In the past 16 years that Seoul’s top university for the arts, Kang-jo University, has been running, there have been no reports of deaths or anything of that matter, not until, now.

Year 2009

It was summer for the students of Kang-jo University but for those who stayed in the dorms, they were still having their summer vacation, just inside the school’s grounds. Being the good and nice man that he is, the school’s director, Yang Hyun Shik, allowed the students to use the swimming pool, the computer room, the garden, the gym and the library all throughout the summer vacation.

Most of the students who stayed in school during the summer were those who lived away from Seoul or those who had things to do. Nonetheless, students were allowed to stay as long as nothing happened. But something did happen.

“Mr. Director! Oh! Mr. Director!” the dorms’ housekeeper yelled as she ran to the director’s office. Thinking that is was just a trivial matter, the director, Yang Hyun Shik, greeted her with a smile.

“Oh, Mr. Hyun Shik, student Kwon has…student Kwon has…” the old lady tried to say. Hyun Shik’s smile faltered as he looked at the old lady intently.

“Which Kwon and what happened?” Hyun Shik asked the old lady. The old lady fell to the floor and began panting hard. Hyun Shik was about to go near her when he was stopped by a voice.

“Don’t you dare come closer or I’ll kill her.” The voice said. It was a voice Hyun Shik didn’t recognize but he was positive it was the old lady’s.

“Who are you?” he asked. He hesitantly took a step backward until he felt the secret button that would call the school’s security.

“Don’t even think about it, Yang Hyun Shik. If you value your students’ and employees’ lives, you’d listen to what I have to tell you.” The old lady-whose voice is not hers-said. Hyun Shik nodded and sat on his rotating chair.

“Why don’t you tell me first, who are you?” he asked again, calmly but with a tinge of hesitance and fear in his voice. The voice grunted.

“You know me, Director Yang. You know me so well. I believe you even called me, ‘the school’s angel.’” The voice said. Hyun Shik was startled at what the voice said. He couldn’t believe it.

“You…you can’t possibly be…” his voice trailed off. He couldn’t believe it herself. She was dead. She has been dead for 2 years. Why is she doing this?

“I’m not here to harm you and your school, Hyun Shik. In fact, I’m here to warn you. One of the ‘higher ups’ doesn’t like your students to go around messing with black magic. Not only is it dangerous, it could to limitless harm to both the living and spiritual world. Accidentally, a student opened up the gate from the dead to this world. Because of that…he was…eliminated.” The voice explained.

“Who was that student?” Hyun Shik asked, more calmly now. He was hesitant and didn’t want to believe whatever this ‘spirit’ was saying but, he had heard rumors.

“Kwon…Jiyong of year 2 class 1.” The voice replied. The old lady opened up a TV-like screen. A minute later, a scene was shown.

“Kwon Jiyong, for messing around with black magic, we, the higher ups, hereby eliminate you from this game you call life. We, however, could cancel this out and give you another option. Sell you soul to the lower downs and you’ll live but in hell. Considering what you’ve done, we, however, won’t be giving you this. Goodbye, Kwon Jiyong.” The hooded figure snapped his fingers. That very moment, Jiyong started a coughing fic. The figure snapped again, this time, a vulture appeared and began feeding on Jiyong. He was dead.

“What is that?” Hyun Shik asked. Not believing what he had just witnessed. He looked at the old lady but she was already sprawled on the floor, fainted. Beside her was a note written in a clean handwriting.

“This is just the start, Yang Hyun Shik. They will come again next year and the year after that. They will terrorize everyone in the wretched school. They wouldn’t stop until they have found what they need. I’ve ran out of time but I will come back. Be safe.”

-          Im Yoona

“Student Kwon…he’s…” the old lady muttered. Hyun Shik looked at her and saw that she was really pale. He carried her to the couch.

“I know…he’s dead…” Hyun Shik solemnly said. Kwon Jiyong was the nicest and friendliest student in the university. He also excelled in music. Losing him was very unfortunate.

“He’s…alive…” this caught Hyun Shik off-guard. Before he could question the old lady, she died in a heart attack. Hyun Shik offered his prayers before calling the guard.

“Jiyong…is alive?” he muttered as he buried his face on his hands. This was too much for him and he was losing his composure. He tried to reason out-more like he tried to convince himself that this wasn’t true and that it was all a dream.

Will the students of Kang-jo University ever be safe again? What was Yoona’s ulterior motive for helping Hyun Shik? Is Jiyong really dead? Find out.

Characters;

--Park Leeteuk--

Leeteuk is the responsible yet mysterious president of the student government. Although it was kept a secret, Leeteuk was one of the few who knew about Jiyong’s death. Although serious and quiet, Leeteuk is one of the people who would try to cheer someone when they’re sad. It was rumored that he was going out with Taeyeon but it wasn’t proven.

--Kim Taeyeon--

Taeyeon is the resident bad girl of the school. Though smart and athletic, Taeyeon isn’t someone who’d follow orders-especially if it was from the school’s administration. Taeyeon regularly gets into fights with other students. Leeteuk is the only one who can calm her down and stop her from doing any more damage than what she already did.

--Meng Jia--

With her pink hair, a lot thinks that Chinese member Jia is another bad girl. But, behind her cold façade is a girl who misses her home and wants to go back. Because of an accident, she now ‘works’ as the student government’s ‘errand girl.’ She could leave, yes, but with President Leeteuk at her back, she just couldn’t. She is a really great dancer.

--Lee Changmin--

Changmin is the student government’s vice president. He is the one who often does Leeteuk’s work whenever he is not around. Even though he is much like Leeteuk, Changmin is a really great cook and a really good singer. Whenever the president gets into trouble, it is him who always has to apologize.

--Choi Seunghyun--

Commonly known as TOP, Seunghyun is the school’s badass racer. He is what teacher’s would call a delinquent because of his attitude but TOP is actually a lot like Jia because he is often misunderstood and a lot of students are afraid of him. He rarely speaks to others but if he does, girls would swoon because of his husky voice.
