Chapter Six

Wednesday morning came and Hyunjae was almost late for the assembly in front of the school gate, “Eunmi!” she proclaimed as she ran towards her class

“Ah, Ms. Hyunjae has arrived” “Ohh~ she looks cute when she’s running” –students

Eunmi near her and gave her a towel to wipe her sweat “Ah~ good thing I caught up” she said as she was wiping her sweat “What happened? This is the first time that you were almost late?” Eunmi asked “Sorry, it’s just that, oppa didn’t bother to wake me up” Hyunjae replied

“Eh?” said Eunmi “I yelled at him for not waking me up but then he ended up saying ‘because you were too cute while you were sleeping that I couldn’t wake you up’ and I didn’t know what to say next” Hyunjae added “*cough* sister complex *cough*” said Eunmi then

TAK. Hyunjae felt bottled water placed on her head, she turned around and was surprised to see Minhyun and Ren “*giggle* I can’t believe it Hyunjae, you were almost late” said Ren “Yeah, ahaha” Hyunjae responded then she turned to Minhyun who was staring at her “W-What?” she said
“Heh, I-DI-OT” he said then he went inside the bus “URGGGH! Torture king!” she mumbled to herself then she and the others went inside as well.

                When they arrived at Seoraksan, Nature Park… “Woah~” the girls beamed in awe as they saw the wonderful view then

“Okay, you may now go to your respective groups and set up your camp” the teacher said and the students also started setting up the tents.

“We’re staying overnight right? Waaah~ this is going to be fun!” Ren proclaimed “Hey airhead, the two of you haven’t been on a class trip before?” Eunmi asked “Yup, but luckily now we were able to go ^^” Ren responded “I see” said Eunmi

“Hey, the other second year classes are also here right? I want to see Aya” said Hyunjae “Yeah but I think they’re on the other side though” Eunmi responded then they continued to set the tent up. When it was already finished, they were now allowed to roam around, site seeing

“Waaaah~ it’s so great here!” Ren beamed “He looks like a wild animal (-_-)” said Eunmi “Heh, no kidding… uh? Where’s the princess?” Minhyun asked “Hyunjae? Well she’s with the teacher since she is our class rep” Eunmi replied “Oh” said Minhyun, Eunmi looked at him then she grinned “Hey, you’re not worried about her… are you?” she asked
“Heh, you know how stupid she is even though she keeps that kind of image, who wouldn’t worry” he replied “Ah, so you are worried” said Eunmi “I didn’t say I was worried” said Minhyun “But it seemed so, anyway, you have to worry about yourself first” said Eunmi “Why is that?” asked Minhyun “Hey, you really have no idea huh? In trips like this, it’s the perfect time for confession so that means… you’ll be busy” Eunmi replied “Eh?” Minhyun wondered, Eunmi smirked as she told him to look behind, Minhyun turned around and went (O___O) when he saw a lot of girls right behind him and they were carrying love letters/gifts/ etc. “Good luck, I’ll take care of that airhead for you” Eunmi said then she left him behind

“Aigoo” Minhyun murmured.

                In Hyunjae’s case, “Hyunjae, stay here for a while okay?” the teacher said and Hyunjae nodded her head. She was now all alone in the lobby, she looked outside and noticed that the students were having a lot of fun running around and playing then she spotted a huge group of girls chasing after something/someone, she looked closely and realized that it was Minhyun

“Oh no” she said, she quickly left the lobby to help him up.

In Minhyun’s case, while he was running “Darn it, how the heck did this happen?” he said to himself as he was running, he reached the woods part and noticed that the trees blocked his way, he turned around and noticed that the group of girls were gaining on him “Oh shoot” he said then

“HEY!” he looked up and saw Hyunjae on top of the tree and she reached out her hand to him “Climb up!” he grabbed her hand and climbed up as well and the two hid themselves on the side of the tree which the girls couldn’t see

“Where is he?” “Did he go that way?” “I don’t know, let’s split up” the girls said to each other then they split up. Hyunjae peeked and noticed that they were already gone, she released a huge sigh of relief and said “Thank goodness they’re gone” she said “Yeah, thanks” said Minhyun and Hyunjae gave him a grin then she realized something

“Uh-oh” she said “What?” he asked “I recklessly climbed up a tree and forgot that I’m afraid of heights” she said “Uh? Heh, you really are an idiot” he said then he climbed down the tree

“H-Hey! Don’t leave me!” she proclaimed “Moron! Who told you I was going to leave you?” he said then he spread his arms wide open “JUMP!” he proclaimed

“What!? Are you crazy? I told you that I’m afraid of heights!” Hyunjae responded “Well you want to live on that tree for the rest of your life?” he questioned “U-Uh… err” she was hesitating if she would jump or not while Minhyun was still spreading his arms

“A-Are you really sure about this?” she asked with a shaky voice “Yeah, don’t worry. I’m here, I’ll catch you!” Minhyun responded “Err…” Hyunjae said then “Here goes nothing” she said as she jumped off the tree and fell into Minhyun’s arms. Hyunjae then landed on Minhyun’s arms, she opened her eyes and noticed that her face was near Minhyun’s, he smirked and said “I got you didn’t I?”

She didn’t know why, but she suddenly felt nervous and embarrassed “P-Please put me down” she said “Alright your majesty” Minhyun said then he put her down “T-Thanks” she said, her voice was still shaky but it wasn’t because she jumped off of the tree, but because she suddenly felt weird when their faces were near to each other then

“AH! Minhyun oppa!” they turned around and saw a cute girl, the girl saw Hyunjae and suddenly felt down “D-Did I disturb you?” she asked “E-Eh? Ah, no you didn’t… umm… excuse me, I’m going to take a short walk” Hyunjae said then she gave the two some privacy time. When she was already out of sight…

Minhyun turned to the girl with cold eyes and he waited for her to say something…

“Umm… actually, I… umm… I…”
“What is it? Can you speak faster?” he said in a cold way. The girl couldn’t talk well because she was afraid of him so she gave him a letter and said “I like you” Minhyun looked at the letter then he looked at her “Sorry, I don’t like you” he said “B-But…” “Isn’t it stupid? How can you say that you like me? You don’t even know what kind of person I am, sure you know my birthday, my blood type, my favorite food but isn’t that because you got it from another source and you didn’t ask me about it?” he added

“B-But I-” “Please leave” he said. The girl couldn’t respond anymore, she started to cry then she ran away from him then…
“It’s wrong to eavesdrop” he said, he turned to the tree and Hyunjae slowly showed herself “S-Sorry” she said “Heh” Minhyun said then he walked ahead

“W-Wait!” she proclaimed, Minhyun paused and turned to her “W-Why did you make her cry like that?” she asked. “What are you talking about? She cried on her own” he responded “What are you saying!? If you didn’t say those mean words to her, if you only replied to her properly then maybe she wouldn’t have cried that much!” said Hyunjae

“Heh,  you know princess, you shouldn’t be butting in to other people’s business… if you don’t want her to cry like that then maybe the next time when she confesses, you’ll be the one to answer her” he said. He was about to leave but then “I really don’t get you… you’re a torture king!” Hyunjae proclaimed then she ran ahead of him “Heh” he said.

                During lunch time, while Eunmi and Hyunjae were preparing the meals, Eunmi noticed that Hyunjae was spacing out. “Hey, are you okay?” she asked but Hyunjae didn’t respond

“I don’t get that torture king… a while ago, he seemed okay but after that confession he suddenly turned into a horrible person or something… really, he could just properly returned that girl’s feelings instead of saying harsh things to her… and that girl was really cute too, sheesh, he’s such an idiot for letting a cute girl slip out of his hands. And he says that the next time that girl will confess to him, I’ll be the one to answer. Heh, that’s so cocky of him, he said harsh things to that girl, I bet that girl hates him right now… Argsh, jeez, it’s all getting on my nerves!” Hyunjae said to herself then

 “Hey, Hyunjae?” she said “Uh… huh? Did you say something Eunmi?” Hyunjae said as she turned to Eunmi “Uh, err, never mind” said Eunmi. While eating, the four of them were very quiet and well, it made Ren and Eunmi uncomfortable…

“Did the two of you fight?” Eunmi asked “Dunno” the two replied in unison “Uh?” both Ren and Eunmi wondered. Minhyun and Hyunjae gave each other a glare then they looked away

“Yikes” said Ren. After eating lunch, “Hey she-man Eunmi, where did Hyunjae go?” Ren asked “Uh, some girls from the other class called her and told her that they wanted to talk to her” Eunmi replied
“I see” Ren said, Minhyun heard what Eunmi said and he seemed a bit bothered about it “Minhyun?” Ren wondered “Uh? Don’t mind me” he said then he went inside his tent

                In Hyunjae’s case…

“Umm, what’s wrong?” Hyunjae asked as she was brought over to the other camp site then “Hyunjae-ssi, we heard that you were the one who helped Minhyun oppa get away from us, is it true?” one of the girls asked “Uh…” Hyunjae observed her surroundings and noticed a lot of angry looking girls “You’re his fan club… right?” she said “Omo, they’re so scary, it looks like they’re going to eat me (TT___TT)”

Then, “Hyunjae!” they turned around and Hyunjae was relieved to see Aya “A-Aya” she said “AYA!!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! I’M SO GLAD TO SEE YOU (TTvTT)”
“What are you girls doing?” Aya said in a scary voice “Oh, we were just asking Ms. Hyunjae about some love advice” the girl replied “Love Advice?” Aya wondered “Yeah, isn’t she going out with the Student Council President?” the girl asked, Hyunjae blushed after hearing what the girl said

“W-We’re not going out!” she proclaimed “Really? Well okay then” the girl said then she turned to the other girls “Let’s go” then they all scattered around

Aya went near Hyunjae to check on her “Are you okay?” she asked “Y-Yeah, I’m fine” Hyunjae responded then “Ah, Eunmi and the others might need my help. I’m going back, it was nice to see you Aya” Hyunjae said then she left “Uh? Hyunjae?” Aya wondered.

                During the afternoon, they continued with the sightseeing “Where’s the she-man Eunmi?” Ren asked “Oh, some guy asked her to talk with him. I bet it’s another confession” Hyunjae replied “Really? Uh, now that you mention it, Hyunjae why hasn’t anyone confessed to you?” Ren asked “Oh, that’s because during the opening ceremony a few months ago, my brother suddenly made an announcement during his speech

‘Whoever confesses to my cute little sister, Im Hyunjae, without even consulting me, will be suspended for 3 months!’ –Siwan

And because of that, no one bothered to confess to me” Hyunjae replied “(||-_-) I somehow feel sorry for those guys” said Ren “Oh, I’m also wondering, has anyone confessed to you today?” Hyunjae asked “Well, a lot of girls have been following me around lately but they couldn’t get the chance to go near me” he replied “And why is that?” Hyunjae wondered “Because she-man Eunmi was with me, looks like she can become handy sometimes huh” said Ren “I-I see (^^||)” Hyunjae responded then “Hyunjae, did something happen between you and Minhyun?” Ren asked as he noticed that the two weren’t talking to each other, Hyunjae didn’t want respond so she just kept quiet

Ren smiled and said “Well whatever Minhyun said or did, I’m pretty sure he has a reason for it” Hyunjae turned to him and he smiled at her then “Ah! Look, a deer!” Ren beamed as he saw a deer and decided to go after it

                Meanwhile, in Eunmi’s case…

“I’m sorry but I’m really not interested in dating right now” she said “I see, thank you for listening to my confession” the guy responded then he excused himself and left. When he was already gone, “Hwang Minhyun, I know you’re there, you can come out now” said Eunmi, she turned around and saw Minhyun “That was unexpected of you… a violent girl who would properly reply to a confession” he said “Heh, well it’s always been my principle to properly reply to a confession, no matter how annoying a guy can be” Eunmi responded and Minhyun didn’t make a sound “Uh? What’s wrong? Is your fight with Hyunjae bothering you?” she asked and Minhyun turned to her “I’ve heard from Aya that a while ago, Hyunjae was surrounded by a lot of girls, she asked one of those girls and said that the girl who confessed to you a while ago, told those girls that Hyunjae was with you. I have no idea what’s going on but if Hyunjae gets hurt and you’re the reason behind it, I’m definitely going to hurt you” Eunmi said then she walked away.

                During dinner time, the two still haven’t talked to each other even during the camp fire between the other groups, whenever they would have an eye contact, they would look away then “Hyunjae-ssi, that girl over there wants to have a word with you” one of her classmates said. Hyunjae looked at the girl and noticed that it was the same girl from before (the one who talked to her when she was surrounded by the group of girls) she stood up and started to leave

“Where are you going Hyunjae?” Eunmi asked “Don’t worry, it’ll be for a while ^^” Hyunjae responded “Then I’ll go with-” “DON’T!” “Uh?” they all wondered
“Don’t worry Eunmi, I’ll be fine” Hyunjae said then she continued to leave

                She followed the girl and they arrived at a vacant space on the other side, there were a lot of girls there as well…

“This is really scary, but I have to be strong. Don’t worry Hyunjae, you can do it” she said to herself then she faced the girls with more confidence
“So, what’s your business with me?” she said “My my, look who sounds cocky” the girl said “Im Hyunjae, even though Minhyun oppa is your body guard, you are not allowed to have him!” the other one proclaimed “That’s right, Minhyun oppa is ours and not only yours!” the girls started to make a fuss and it really irritated Hyunjae then

“SHUT UP WILL YOU!” she proclaimed and they were all silenced, “No wonder that guy would be so rude when you confess, you’re not even worth it to confess to him!” she added “J-Just what are you saying?” one of the girls said “I’m saying that if you want him to properly give you a reply, don’t chase after him in groups and act all crazy and oh, by the way, he’s not yours! No one owns him, even I don’t own him! he’s enot a thing but a human being!” Hyunjae proclaimed then

“Well said princess” Minhyun inserted, Hyunjae turned around and was surprised to see him, he looked pleased after hearing what Hyunjae said. He went near the girls and said “You heard her? No one owns me so you better just stop with this nonsense” then he grabbed Hyunjae’s hand and started to walk away

“H-Hey, wait a minute!” Hyunjae said but then “Thanks…” he said “And sorry…” Hyunjae felt happy after hearing what Minhyun said and didn’t even bother to respond.

Dear Diary,

Today, we’re here in Seoraksan for our school trip. It’s really a beautiful place here. This morning, Hwang Minhyun was also being chased by a group of girls and I helped him. I even climbed up a tree and forgot that I was afraid of heights but then Minhyun climbed down and told me to jump. I was really afraid but in the end, I jumped and fell into his arms. Uh, now that I think about it… I never thought that Hwang Minhyun was that strong. He seems skinny so I didn’t think that he was that manly at all (sorry (^^v) ) anyway, I also had a small fight with him because a cute girl confessed to him and he was being rude to her but I can somehow see why he was rude…

Honestly, I don’t know why but I want to get to know Hwang Minhyun better… it seems like I don’t know a lot of things about him and I’m interested to know more about him…

I want to know what he likes, what he dislikes, his birthday, his fears…

“Uh? Come to think of it, Ren said that he isn’t afraid of anything” Hyunjae said to herself then “Hyunjae~” Eunmi said as she opened the tent “Let’s go” she said “Where to?” Hyunjae asked as she closed her diary and went outside

“Hey, aren’t we supposed to go to sleep already?” she asked as she looked around and she and Eunmi were the only ones outside “Shh, be quiet, we’re going somewhere” said Eunmi “We?” Hyunjae wondered then

“Hey!” Ren quietly proclaimed, they turned around and saw him and Minhyun “Uh?” Hyunjae wondered then “Let’s go” Eunmi said as she grabbed Hyunjae’s hand and the four of them went into the woods

“H-Hey, where are we going?” Hyunjae asked “You’ll see” said Ren “Eh?” Hyunjae wondered. She continued to follow them until she bumped into something and was about to fall but then

“Ah!” Minhyun caught her “You really are an idiot aren’t you?” he said then he let go of her “T-Thanks” she said. He smirked and continued to walk, moments later, they arrived at a beautiful place with a huge lake and you could see a clear view of the night sky

“Woah, this place is amazing!” Hyunjae beamed “Isn’t it? While that airhead and I were looking around, we found this place and figured that it must look better during the night time, guess we were right” said Eunmi “Waaah~ so cool” Hyunjae said as she started to look around.

Eunmi noticed that Minhyun kept looking at her “You’re worried about her” she said “Huh?” Minhyun said as he turned to her “A while ago, when she was called by that girl, you also excused yourself and followed her right?” she asked and Minhyun just kept quiet, he felt a bit embarrassed and didn’t know what to say, Eunmi smirked and said “Well I’m glad that I can trust you (^^)” then

“GAAAH!” Ren yelled, Eunmi immediately ran to him to check him out “What’s wrong?” she said “I thought I saw something scary over there” Ren responded (-__-) then Eunmi hit him on the head

“Are you a guy or not!? What the heck is with you being a scaredy-cat!?” Eunmi proclaimed “Oww (>_<) Shut up you she-man who is afraid of dogs!” Ren responded “MWO!? You wanna fight!?” Eunmi responded and they continued to quarrel

“Seriously (-_-||)” Minhyun said then “How about you?” Hyunjae asked “Huh?” Minhyun wondered as he turned to her “Ren said that you’re not afraid of anything but I doubt that, even though you’re the torture king, I’m sure you’re afraid of something” she said, Minhyun smirked and said “Yeah, I am afraid of something” “EH? (^O^) I knew it! What are you afraid of?” she asked but then “S-E-C-R-E-T” Minhyun said as he poked her forehead and walked ahead “H-Hey! That’s not fair, you know that I’m afraid of heights so you should tell me what you’re afraid of!” she said
“It’s your fault for letting me know, anyway, if you’re that curious then why don’t you try to find it out?” Minhyun suggested then he continued his way “Pfffffff, FINE!” Hyunjae responded.

                “Just you wait Hwang Minhyun, I’m going to find out what you’re afraid of. Ohohohoho >:)”

In the middle of the night, where each student were having a good dream while sleeping in their tents…

AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~

“GAH!” Ren cried as he suddenly woke up “Urgh, what’s with you?” Minhyun said as he was awakened by Ren’s cry “D-Did you hear something?” Ren asked “No, now go back to sleep” Minhyun said as he lied back down then “AAAAAH!” Ren proclaimed as he saw a mysterious shadow in front of their tent “M-M-M-M-MINHYUN!” he cried, Minhyun turned around and saw the shadow then…

“Hey Im Hyunjae! If you don’t go back inside your tent, I’ll seriously hit you really hard!” he proclaimed then “I-I’m not Im Hyunjae!” the shadow responded “Jeez, you really are stupid. Get lost!” Minhyun responded then he went back to sleep.

                The next morning, when Minhyun woke up, he was surprised to see a big spider right in front of him “What the?”
Meanwhile, in Hyunjae’s case, “What’s wrong Hyunjae? You’ve been grinning to yourself?” Eunmi asked “Oh nothing ^^” Hyunjae replied with a grin on her face then “Nice try but I’m not afraid of spiders as well” Minhyun said as he approached them “Darn it!” Hyunjae thought.

Inside the bus, on the way back to school… “Psst, Hyunjae, are you trying to find out what Hwang Minhyun’s afraid of?” Eunmi asked and Hyunjae nodded her head “Will you help me?” she added “Of course! I also want to know his weakness that way I’ll know how to crush him if ever he hurts you” Eunmi responded then “Good Luck with that” Minhyun inserted and the two girls went (=[]=)

ATTEMPT #3:
                When Minhyun arrived at their room, he went to his seat and was about to sit down but then he suddenly found something on his chair (-_-) the threw it towards Hyunjae and she was surprised that she almost screamed “Sorry, snakes don’t scare me especially rubber snakes” then he sat down.

ATTEMPT #4:
                During lunch time, on the way to the cafeteria, someone suddenly grabbed Minhyun’s arm and pulled him inside a dark and scary room “Uh?” he wondered then he suddenly felt pissed “Nice try but I’m not afraid of the dark as well!” he proclaimed.

                The two girls did a lot more attempts but then “AH! I give up!” Eunmi proclaimed as she lied down on the floor at the roof top “Guess that torture king isn’t afraid of anything huh” she added “B-But he said that he was afraid of something” Hyunjae responded “Why are you so eager to know what he’s afraid of?” Eunmi asked “W-Well, because I want to get to know him better” Hyunjae replied “Hmm? Do you like him?” Eunmi questioned “Eh!? Of course not! It’s just that… I feel like I want to get to know him” said Hyunjae “Hmm, I see” Eunmi said then she patted her on the head then “Ah, Hyunjae I need to go. I’m on cleaning duty today” she added as she stood up and left. After that, Hyunjae was left all alone in the rooftop. “I really want to know” she said to herself then

“Ah, you’re here” she sat up and saw Minhyun walking towards her and with him was her diary “W-W-Why is my diary with you?” she asked “Because of your stupidity, you dropped it so here” he said as he gave the diary to her “Well, see you tomorrow” he said as he started to leave then “Wait!” Hyunjae said as she stopped him “You’re not mad because we tried to find out your weakness?” she asked. Minhyun smirked and said “I was annoyed but it was also fun seeing you and Eunmi fail”
“(=_=) T-Torture king” he went near her then patted her on the head and said “See ya” then he left.

Hyunjae released a sigh and decided to write on her diary but when she opened it, Minhyun wrote something on it…

Hey,

I just want to say sorry and thanks for what happened last night. Just to let you know, I talked to that girl who confessed to me a while ago and apologized for being rude (there, happy?) also, you look really stupid trying to find out what I was afraid of. Honestly, I wanted to laugh out loud but…

I was also happy since you said that you wanted to get to know me better and because you said that…

I’ll tell you what I’m most afraid of…

Hyunjae widened her eyes and suddenly turned red when she found out what Minhyun was afraid of the most…

I’m afraid of losing the most important person to me. Seeing her get hurt, hurts me. Losing her, that scares me the most so I hope she won’t do something stupid to really scare me because I am afraid of losing her

“W-What the heck is this? He’s afraid of losing someone? Heh, and I expected for him to be scared about something really scary! Sheesh (-///-)” Hyunjae said to herself then she noticed something inside of her “Argh, darn it… why can’t I stop blushing and why is my heart beating fast!? GAAAAH!”

And oh, about my birthday, like, dislikes and other stuff… well, you would just have to find it out for yourself ‘cause I’m not telling >:P

After reading that, Hyunjae closed her diary and hugged it tightly. She couldn’t help but show a big smile on her face, on the other hand…

“What took you so long?” Ren asked as he saw Minhyun leaving the building and walking towards him “I forgot to return something to a classmate of ours” he replied “Eh? Then why are you blushing?” Ren asked as he noticed that Minhyun’s cheeks were light pink “Shut up, let’s go home (=///=)” he said as he walked ahead.

                When Hyunjae got home, Siwan noticed that she was really happy “What’s that? Did something happen during the Seoraksan trip?” he asked “E-Eh? (O///O) N-No, nothing happened” Hyunjae responded “Hmm? Okay then” said Siwan and Hyunjae went upstairs to her room but then

“By the way, did you hear? Oh Se Hun’s finally back” said Siwan

“EH!?” Hyunjae proclaimed.
