He wonders what happened to the Soojung that he used to know back in their trainee days. Did she change much? Has being the in the idol world blemished her very personality that he had known and loved? Kai shakes his head, sure that of course -- she wouldn’t. His dear Soojung is strong, and always will be.

Often he sits exhaustedly in his practice room, sweat dripping down his temples and breath heavy and labored. It has always been this hard: practicing everyday, each day demanding even more from an already-tired body and mind. He speculates whether this is all worth it. Is stardom what he really wants? Is debuting such an important thing?

But he decides that yes, it is all worth it. He lets his mind travel into the future, when he’ll stand on the same stage as her: both stars, both at the top of the world. He dreams of the day when he’ll finally catch up with her, after all these years of waiting. The one thing that keeps him waking up early everyday to begin another day’s work is the prospect of possibly having her in his arms -- again. He sighs blissfully, his heartbeat speeding up just at the thought.

So whenever he falls down, he picks himself right back up. Because it’s all going to be worth it.
