In 2022, a six-membered girl group project was launched under the name MAMAdol. mamadol was formed through the tvn reality show, Mama the idol. the original six members were former idols who had become mothers. the group released one digital single, and disbanded once the final episode of the show aired.

now, two years later, the group is getting a reboot, with a brand new line-up, and brand new songs. harmonic media, founded in 2012 has bought all rights for mamadol from cjenm, and has been scouting high and low for potential members, and has teased a new group countless times, but nobody was expecting this.

with an official debut date in sight, mamadol will make its return as an eight member girl group on october 28th, 2024.
