At Austin Grand Hill – Malaysia [A Year Ago]

Joongki send off their last guest for that night on the gate. Soyeon and her husband return to their home soon after as they have important meeting the next day. The grandfather picked up his only granddaughter who falls asleep on the living room into her bed. IU was awake at that time but she remains unmoved.

“Seungie, ask Seungyeol to prepare JiEun’s sportswear. Appa will take her out for a date tomorrow”

Hyunseung searching for Seungyeol and found the poor and tired boy sprawled over his bed after works so hard for IU’s birthday party. He tucks him into his bed properly and turned off the light. He decided to do by his own

He went into IU’s closet and matching the suit. After he satisfied, he hung the wears. He kissed his daughter's cheeks and stare lovingly at her before he went to his bedroom. IU follow behind him soon after he steps into his bathroom to get wash

‘Haish Mama...I need your stamp for school trip’

IU waits patiently on Hyunseung’s bed. She began to feel irritated. Once Hyunseung step into his Jacuzzi, it gonna took forever. She decided to get the stamp without waiting for Hyunseung

“Where Mama places his stamp...hurmmm maybe on his drawer”

IU searching over and reaches the bottom drawer of Hyunseung’s desk. She found it locked. She took Hyunseung’s master key and tries to open it and lucky her it’s opened in her first try.

“BANZAI! Now where is it...hah here!”

She grabs the transparent box contains Hyunseung’s stamp pad. She stamped her approval paper and placing the pad back to its original place but something caught her eyes....

She saw an old looking grey file with her real name on it.

‘Alicia J. Song’

She took out the file and flips the cover page. She found a record of baby vaccination and a few documents that she doesn’t understand at all. In English. She only knows Malay and fluent in Korean

At the end, she saw a certificate of death and another document.

Song Jaesoon

D.O.B – 19 December 1978

Date of Death – 19 December 1997 (19 years old) – 1030PM

Caused of death – Lung failure, complication after surgery

'Song Jaesoon? Who is he...eh same birth date with Mama's'

IU read another piece of transcript wrapped by transparent pocket file.

Mother's Name : Song Jaesoon

'...is this my birth certificate?

IU is a growing girl so she can think wisely.

'What is the meaning of this? Why Mama’s name is not in here...but Song Jaesoon'

Hyunseung finished his bath and saw IU under his desk

“JiEunnie, what are you doing down there...yah give me that!”

Hyunseung try to grab the folder but IU quickly holding it tightly.

“I said, give it to me my dear”

“NO!”

“Jieun, I said for the last time honey, give me that”

“SHIRO!”

“ALICE!”

Jieun scared because Hyunseung hate to call her Alice, only when it comes to times when she did something terribly wrong but at the same time she’s too stubborn to give it back to Hyunseung

Joongki and UEE heard Hyunseung's voice and they ran upstairs

“Hyunseung, why are you shouting...JiEunnie, what are you doing here honey and...what is that?”

Joongki come closer to take a look at the folder but the girl sneakily run away and lock herself in her room

“Alice! Come back here...yah open this damn door!”

Joongki and UEE know Hyunseung very well. He wouldn’t get mad at IU easily unless she did something wrong

“Seungie calm down...you are scaring her”

“Hyunseung, explain to Appa sweetheart. Come follow me”

Hyunseung told his family everything. He told the truth behind those lies that he did, the secrets that he’s held all this time and the reasons behinds all his deeds.

UEE broke down into tears when Hyunseung telling them the truth. She had been despised Hyunseung all this time. She insulted Hyunseung, make him cry within those early years since Junhyung’s death and blaming him until now. She makes IU beliefs that she is not the legal heir for Song because she hated the innocent girl.

She disgusted with her lovely baby brother, Hyunseung because he suddenly appeared in front of them with a baby girl that he claimed as his daughter a year after their parents sent Junhyung and Hyunseung off to Canada for took their Degree. They absolutely never graduated there and in addition Hyunseung returns bought disgraced to Song's family. At that time, Junhyung was dying after diagnosed suffering from lung cancer.

Joongki on the other hand accept all Hyunseung’s telling and acted out of himself. He seems calmer, didn’t flinch at all and that make Hyunseung questioning himself. Does his father know about his secrets? He was so out of him

“I’m waiting for you to tell this matter if you’re ready enough but I guess I was wrong Hyunseung. You are not even planning to make clear of these even for once, am I right?”

Joongki stares at Hyunseung and UEE. Both his children didn’t even dare to face him. UEE battling with her guilt and Hyunseung...  his late wife was right. Hyunseung is hard to predict. But far inside, he knew Hyunseung is someone who willing to sacrifice his own goods just to please others.

He figured out Hyunseung’s secrets long time ago. He just decided to not tell his findings to his wife Jihyo, because he doesn’t want to make Junhyung’s feel even more pain if something bad happened to Doojoon and their friend Yoseob. Jihyo was a loving mother and also can be mean depends on time

Hyunseung at this time, just lost his thoughts on what he gonna do. How should he explain to IU that he’s not his mother but to be exact, her uncle.

“Seungie...”

Hyunseung looks up hearing UEE’s voice.

“I’m...I’m sorry I didn’t...I just don’t know...”

Hyunseung abruptly changed his seat and hugged her non-stop crying older sister. He doesn’t have any rights to mad at her because he is the one who chose this way so by hook or by crook, he had to accept the outcomes.

“It’s okay noona, I don’t mad at you, I deserved all these...and I’m sorry too for not telling the truth...”

“I’m sorry Seungi-ah, noona is sorry...”

UEE is still crying. Joongki sighed and leave the two siblings in the living hall. He gonna tell this to Soyeon tomorrow and he grabs a picture frame beside his bed lamp post

Joongki's 

“Yeobo... I never expected Hyunseung had done this so far for our Junnie. I’m sorry for hiding all his lies from you and I’m sorry for letting you go without knowing the real thing... I never regretted having them as our child replacement. That was the best decision we ever made and Jihyo nooona, if only you are here with me...”

Outside his room, UEE and Hyunseung slowly retreat to their room as they heard him all. UEE opened their family picture last taken before Junhyung passed away

“How despicable me...dongsaengs-ah, I’m sorry, Jieunnie...please forgive your meanie aunt...”

She broke into tears again
