Love with a Shutter
DooJoon went over to open the door and looked into it.
“Guys, come on in.” He said.
The cottage looked just like a rural restaurant with wooden table and benches.
The closet in there was decorated nicely with flowers, there were also some weird looking potion bottles which you see in those fairytales movie.
“Excuse me, is anyone around?” I asked.
There wasn't a response at first and then, the door opened, an old lady stepped in, “Oh dear, I see there's guests around today. Miyo, where are you?” She called for a girl called Miyo.
HyunSeung reacted really fast to that name as.. That was what his ex-girlfriend was named.
We were all waiting for Miyo to appear, the lady hosted us to seat down, “Here, have the menu.” She placed the menu on the tables and...
We didn't really know where did it came from.
We all felt rather strange about this, “Halmeoni, are you sure it's all edible?” Soo Ah asked, feeling suspicious.
“Bat's eyes, Cockroach's wings?!” YoSeob shouted and was about to puke.
The old lady smiled, “I'm so sorry, my fault.” And then the menu changed instantly.
“And how did this even change?” Soo Ah asked.
“Shin agassi, I see you are smart but, you shouldn't ask too much question.” That was a rather cold glare from the old lady.
JunHyung held Soo Ah closer to him, DooJoon looked at the menu, “Halmeoni, jeosonghamnida, She's still young. We shall just have a drink then.” He said.
“It's cold tonight, why not a hot drink then?” The old lady said.
DooJoon nodded, “Ne, kamsahamnida.” He said and the old lady went into the restaurant.
Soo Ah looked at JunHyung, “How did she know my last name?” she asked.
“I think let's just be mindful of our words, finish the drink and leave.” DooJoon said.
Just then, a girl came out with the drinks, we could see that HyunSeung was really not himself at that moment.
HyunSeung grabbed he hands, “Miyo?” He recognized her as...
The girl struggled a little, “Sir, please let go, I don't know you.” She said.
“You are Miyo, right?” HyunSeung asked.
The girl nodded, “Ne, My name is Miyo but.. I don't know you.” She replied.
HyunSeung then released his grab, “Joesonghamnida, you looked just like a friend of mine.” He said and then went back to his seat.
Miyo served us with the drinks and left, Soo Ah took a look at the drink, “I am not going to be drinking this.” She said.
YoSeob finished his cup really fast, I simply placed my hands around the cup to get some warmth.
“Hyung, we should pay and leave then.” DongWoon said.
“Ne.” DooJoon nodded, “Anyone brought your wallet out?” He asked.
“Hyung, you didn't?” KiKwang asked.
JunHyung reach to his pocket and took his wallet out, “You guys..” He shook his head and took a thousand won out.
He left the money on the table, “Halmeoni, here you go. We are leaving, thank you for your drink.” JunHyung said but no one responded.
“Halmeoni?” Soo Ah asked again.
“Let's leave then.” DooJoon said, tugging HyunSeung with him who was obviously not that reluctant to leave.
DooJoon went to open the door but it was..
Locked?
DooJoon tried opening the knob a few more times, “Why is it locked? It was opened all this while isn't it?” He asked.
“Halmeoni, are you here?” KiKwang asked.
Just then..
*THUMP*
“It's that sound again.” Chae Rin whispered.
And it came from..
“Inside.” Soo Ah said and went forward, JunHyung held her hand, “Hold on.” He said and then followed her.
We all went deeper into the restaurant and saw another room with a totally different design.
A more of British kind of majestic feel but the room looked really old.
“Halmeoni?” I asked, “Are you still here?”
We walked into the room, and the sound of the old lady was heard, “I am so glad to see you little innocent ones walking in, but it would be too easy to just let all of you leave this place.” She said.
Soo Ah looked at me and then Chae Rin, I nodded, “Then what do you plan to do?” Soo Ah asked.
“Easy.” She said,
“Let me have a bit of fun then. I had been living for too long and I am really bored. You all seems to be rather influential in this country, what if you all disappear, I wonder what will happen?” She said and we heard her creepy laugh at the end.
DooJoon stood out and said, “I am sorry, I don't really understand. Just what do you want to do with us?” He asked.
“Let's have a change.” She said.
“Change?” I asked.
“I know there are six of you who are paired, and there's three who aren't. Why not do a switch?” She said.
“Wait, you are trying to manipulate our love?” Chae Rin asked.
“Just a little love game here. To see if your partner really loves you then.” She said.
“I don't think there's a need to do so.” Soo Ah said.
“Couldn't you just give us a task or something? Like clean up your restaurant or what so ever?” YoSeob asked.
“Then there's no fun anymore.” She said and I felt a strong power pulling me closer into the room, DongWoon lost his grip and I felt like I couldn't move.
“This girl seems to be rather important to all of you here. Guess she's of good use.” She said.
“Let go of her!” DongWoon said and he tried moving forward but there is a strong force opposing him from getting near me.
“How can you grab her away?” Soo Ah and Chae Rin shouted.
I was afraid but I didn't want them to worry, “Maljjanghaeyo, don't worry.” I said.
“You are special.” Suddenly the old lady said, "Other would already be screaming and shouting instead of you still worrying that your friends would be worried. Kind of a kind-soul here."
I replied, “Halmeoni, that girl just now was your grand daughter right? I mean, in the morning just now, I saw her.”
“I remember.. her name was EunHi.” I said.
“Liar! How could you have saw her.. Impossible!” She shouted.
“Aniyo, EunHi gave me a gift. She told me that you would love this.” I said and I took out a saga seed.
“Halmeoni, EunHi don't blame you for anything, it isn't your fault.” I said.
“EunHi...” And then the old lady appeared, she looked at me, “You saw her? How is she now?” she asked.
Halmeoni was so petite and small in size, I squatted down so as to be able to talk to her comfortably,
“Halmeoni, EunHi told me that she love you and she know that the accident was inevitable. She knew you didn't mean to and she really didn't blame you for anything.” I said.
[In the morning]
Everyone was busy and I was in the treehouse alone, marinating the chicken wings.
Just then, someone knocked on the door, I thought it was one of them but..
It turns out to be a little girl out there, I squatted down and looked at her, “Annyeong, why are you here?” I asked.
She said nothing but placed a saga seed in my hand, she said nothing but..
I heard her voice ringing in my mind, telling me that she love her grandmother and she didn't blame her for anything regarding the accident.
I gave her a pat on her head and said, “I will make sure I find your Halmeoni and tell her that, do lead us to her.”
She nodded and bowed and before she left, she smiled.
That sweet smile that every little kid deserves to have, she had the sweetest one that I've ever seen.
It was a promise between her and I and hence I didn't say anything about it till now.
[Back to now]
Halmeoni looked at me and was about to cry, “She didn't forgive me, if so, she would have come to meet me.” She said.
I hugged the small the figure in front of me, “Halmeoni, EunHi is fine, she is living really happily in her own world.” I said.
Halmeoni looked at me and just in a while the whole room changed and there seats available, “Take a seat.” She said.
Everyone sat down, “Halmeoni, do you mind telling us what had happened?” I asked.
She nodded and started saying, “EunHi is my only grand daughter, she lost her parents since a very young age and hence I took on the responsibility to take care of her.” She said.
“EunHi is a really sweet girl, I am a healer and I lived here for a really long time already. I will be out collecting herbs in the morning and that day, I came back late.” She said and started weeping once again.
“I should have took her along with me, if I knew that she was afraid.” She said.
“She was all alone that day?” I asked.
“It was a stormy night, just like today, a sudden rain pour and I had to get a temporary shelter at the treehouse where you all stayed.” He said.
JunHyung then remembered the figure he saw just now, “Halmeoni, mind if I ask, are you looking at us just now?” He asked.
“I am actually concerned with the people who comes occasionally to stay over there and I hears that the treehouse was bought by some rich people.” She replied.
“My friend bought it recently.” KiKwang said.
Halmeoni continued the story, “EunHi was worried for me and she came out on her own with an umbrella in her hand. But.. But..” Tears started falling out uncontrollably.
I hugged her tightly, “But before I could see her, she was swept away by a landslide. That was the greatest landslide that we ever experienced.” She said.
I remembered EunHi was holding an umbrella with her a well just now, “Halmeoni, EunHi love you, she loves you always and due to your unconditional love for her, she is now leading a happy life.” I said.
“But she will never ever be with me anymore.” Halmeoni said.
“She will, Halmeoni, she will.” I said, “The thumping sounds.. You didn't knew what it was isn't it?” I asked.
“I guess it's some little stones dropping?” She guessed.
“Aniyo, those are saga seeds.” I said and I went towards the door, “Halmeoni, mind opening the door?” I asked.
She agreed and I opened the door, there are saga seeds all around and YoSeob was complaining about them just now as well.
That was how I knew EunHi's grandmother was her.
“Halmeoni, the sage seeds are all here, EunHi love you and she's always been here.” I said.
Halmeoni smiled, “Komawo.” She said.
“The rain had stopped but..” She said and paused.
“A landslide occurred.” Soo Ah noticed the landslide occurrence.
“I shall send you all back. Close your eyes and don't peek.” She said.
But before that, she placed something in my hand and..
It happened almost instantly.
“Eh.. Can we open our eyes now?” YoSeob asked.
“Ne.” KiKwang said and..
“We are back?” JunHyung was rather shocked, we all were back at the treehouse, everything was normal and the sun was about to rise already.
I looked at what was left for me in my palm, a saga seed and a clover necklace an there's a rolled up note.
I opened up the note, “May luck and happiness be with you.” That was all that was written.
“Is that a dream?” Chae Rin asked.
I shook my head, “It was a really Special trip.” I said.
“Very special.” I thought to myself.
We decided to pack up and we don't feel tired at all, I guess Halmeoni must have casted some sort of spell.
“We shall wait for the van to come.” DooJoon said and soon we left the place.
I took a last look at the treehouse and that cottage up there, far away and murmured, “Komawo.” I said.
We went back to our dormitories and left our luggage in there and we had to be back to the company for a meeting.
“Girls, so how's the trip?” Rachel asked.
“It was good. Unnie, what did you want to tell us about?” I asked.
“Ah, right.. Back to work. B2STiCal had an overwhelming response and we thought of making another variety show for both groups again. So today, we would like to ask for your opinions on what kind of variety show would you want it to be?” Rachel asked.
“For us to choose?” Soo Ah asked.
“Ne, I thought a couple variety show would be interesting.” Rachel said.
“Guys, what about you all?” Uncle Kim asked for B2ST members' opinions as well.
“Hyung, a couple variety show would be something like WGM isn't it?” DongWoon asked.
“But what if it got too obvious?” DooJoon asked.
We kept silent and then, “Then just let it be. The fans wouldn't find out.” Uncle Kim said.
“So we are really going to be having a couple variety show?” I asked.
“Uh huh, but I guess DooJoon, HyunSeung and YoSeob would be filming another show with APink instead. We have to bring APink out as well.” Uncle Kim said.
And then the planning team started planning.
We went back to our individual dormitories and just.. Sleep.
Really, sleep.
That's what we needed.
And Here you go! I love you all too much and hence.. There's 2 chapters at 1 go!
I kind of.. got quite a good inspiration flow today and..
I cried while writing this, really. Kind of sad to me but.. I guess you all won't feel what I feel so ya, I think that's better.
