Sequel to the Bad Boy chapter ^^

~ No one’s POV ~
 

Lay and Ren had been getting along quite good these past few weeks. They had been taking every chance they got to meet so they could get to know more about each other. Even if they only could meet for a few minutes, they took the chance. But it wasn’t easy, especially since they had to meet in secret. There had been times that the other members got suspicious when either Lay or Ren just had disappeared, and they had almost been discovered once or twice because of a certain member who had been too curious about it all.
 

But now Ren had been all alone ever since two days back, he hadn’t even gotten a single call from Lay. He only thought that he had been too busy these past few days, so maybe he had forgotten about it. He was on his way towards his favorite spot, the place where he and Lay had confessed their feelings for the first time. It was a gloomy day, which didn’t help Ren’s mood at all. He had been quite depressed since Lay hadn’t even sent a message or anything.

~ Ren’s POV ~
 

“It looks like it’s going to rain any minute now…” I said and looked up at the sky. This weather only makes me sadder. Maybe he’s just busy, right? I mean… they’re soon going to debut so they must have lots to do, right? I sighed… Whywouldheforget me just becauseof that? Even though I’m busy with my own schedules, I don’t forget about calling him or sending a message. But he hasn’t even answered my calls these past two days…
 

“I feel so lonely right now…” I whispered to myself while nearing the big old tree I usually spend my free time at, if I didn’t meet Lay.  I looked towards the tree and saw someone standing there with his back towards me. I stopped and tried to look closer. It looked like Lay!
 

I started to walk again, but a bit faster this time. And I noticed that it really was him! When I was just a few meters away someone suddenly jumped at him giving him a back hug. I stopped walking and just stared at the mysterious person who was hugging Lay and whispering into his ear about something I couldn’t hear. And then I saw Lay turning his head around and kissed him.
 

 I was just standing there like a fool, watching how they kissed each other, not even caring about the people around them. I felt my eyes getting teary, and as a tear fell down my cheek Lay turned around and looked at me shocked. So he had finally noticed me now? Has he suddenly remembered about me?
 

I decided to turn around and just run. Run away as far as I could.

~ Lay’s POV ~
 

When I turned around to hug Chan Yeol back, I saw Ren was standing there behind us, just a few meters away. I got really surprised seeing him there. It was quite dark outside because of the dark clouds that were in the sky, hiding the sun. But I could see a tear travelling down his cheek. As I was about to call out to him he started running in the opposite way.
 

“Wait!” I yelled at him while the rain suddenly started to pour down.
 

Chan Yeol took my arm and motioned me to follow him back to the dance studio. We tried to cover ourselves with our jackets as we ran back. I wondered about what I should do now that Ren had seen me with Chan Yeol like that. What should I tell him? That I’ve fallen for another man? I didn’t want to hurt him, but now it was definitely too late for that…
 

Ren better be running back to his dorm or something, I really hope he doesn’t get lost or something…

~ Ren’s POV ~
 

I ran and ran and ran, until I couldn’t run anymore. I fell on the ground, tripping over something that was laying there. I hit my face towards something but I couldn’t feel any more pain… I was crying really hard now and I tried to get up but I didn’t have any energy left. How could he do this to me? I crawled towards a wall and put my back towards it and just put my arms around my legs. I bent forward to try to keep some kind of warmth. It was really cold now, especially since the rain was pouring down like my tears. I was all alone now. I don’t even know where I am, so who could ever be able to find me here? This was just great… what did I ever do to deserve something like this?
 

The weather was like a mirror, showing my feelings perfectly.

~ Lay’s POV ~
 

We had finally reached the dance studio and were drying our hair. We had to change our clothes too so we went to the changing room to get changed. The other members had begun dance practice already, so we changed as fast as we could before going to the others. Chan Yeol decided to head there before me, so I let him go. When I was finished changing I closed the locker and went out from the changing room, making my way to practice when Tao appeared as of nowhere. He just looked at me before opening his mouth.
 

“So… how long are you going to keep it a secret?” I just looked at him a bit shocked.
 

“What do you mean? What secret?” He stared at me like I had questioned something stupid. And then he sighed.
 

“How long are you keeping it from Ren that you and Chan Yeol are dating? Didn’t you two like each other? Why this sudden change?”
 

I got stunned there a moment. How did he know about me and Chan Yeol? I haven’t told anyone, and neither had Chan Yeol… I was thinking for a while about what to tell Tao. Or rather, how to tell him what had just happened…
 

“How do you know about me and Chan Yeol? We didn’t tell anyone about it so… how? Oh… but that doesn’t matter now though… I don’t think I can keep it from Ren either since he just found out about it himself…” I could hardly finish when Tao grabbed the collar of my shirt.
 

“WHAT?! When? How? Where is he now?! You didn’t just let him go like that after he found out did you? I really hope you told him everything…” I looked away when he was staring at me with a deathly stare. I couldn’t say anymore…
 

“Damn it! How could you?! He really liked you! He doesn’t deserve this… and I trusted you? Where is he now?!” He looked mad right now, I have never seen him this angry before… It was definitely something new, and I wasn’t that sure that I would ever want to see it ever again…
 

“He ran away towards the small path leading to those really old buildings… I’m not really sure where he went though…” He let go of my collar harshly pushing me towards the wall before running off. Before heading outside he took his jacket and an umbrella. He smashed the door closed.
 

“Now that I think about it… why is he so concerned about Ren? It’s not like they’re friends or anything…“

~ Tao’s POV ~
 

I ran as fast as I could, searching every corner. I took the small path that would lead me towards those old buildings, hoping to find Ren somewhere close. I really doubted that he would have gone back home or something. I continued my way through every path I could find. He must have run really far… 
 

I stopped for a little while looking around, and suddenly I saw something red lying on the ground a few meters away. I walked over and reached down to pick it up. It was a bracelet that I’ve seen Ren been wearing lately. I looked up when I heard someone sobbing close by. In a dark alley I saw someone hunching forward, holding onto his knees. The blond haired guy was still crying all alone, hidden between two large buildings. I walked towards him and sat down next to him, holding my umbrella over both of us.
 

The rain was finally clearing up when Ren slowly looked up at me.

~ Ren’s POV ~
 

When I was crying my heart out, suddenly someone sat next to me. The person held a umbrella over both of us so we wouldn’t get more wet because of the rain. I looked up and saw Tao’s relieved face. It seemed like he had been searching for me all this time. He reached out his free hand and dried away my tears. Then we just sat there for a long moment, just sitting there without saying a word. Somehow I felt really calm and comfortable in his presence. I had finally stopped crying…
 

“Tao…” I said weakly, since I’ve been crying for hours now.
 

“Hmm?” He looked at me once again, waiting for me to talk again.
 

“Please… Take me away… I beg you… please just take me away from here…” I felt a tear travel down my cheek as I looked him in the eyes. First he looked a bit surprised but then he just smiled at me.
 

“Sure, if you want me to.” Tao said and took my hand, helping me to get up. I was still weak so he hunched down so I could get a piggyback ride. I got on and then he took me back to my dorm. We were quiet the whole time; sometimes he just asked me if I was fine just to make sure I didn’t get hurt. When we reached our destination he didn’t let me down, he just opened the door and took me all the way to my room and then he put me down on my bed.
 

“You better take a warm bath or a shower and change to dry clothes. Take a rest after that, okay?” He smiled at me and then he opened the door to go back to his place.
 

“Wait!” I said. He turned around and looked at me.
 

“Thank you… for everything today…” I said shyly and smiled. He just shook his head and smiled back.
 

“No need to thank me, I’ll always be there for you when you need me.” He then walked out and closed the door. He left me alone to think about everything that had happened today.
 

I decided to follow Tao’s advice and got into the shower. The hot water warmed up my ice-cold body. I didn’t think anymore about Lay and whoever it was that he now seemed to be dating. The only thing I could think about was the kindness that Tao had shown me by finding me in the cold rain, saving me from all the pain that was taking over me almost completely. If it wasn’t for him, I would probably still be out there, soaking wet by the rain and my own tears, getting sick or something. I wonder what I can do for him, just to thank him for everything…

 ~ No one’s POV ~
 

A few days later, after Exo’s debut, Ren decided to congratulate Tao on debuting. So he went to their dance studio, where Tao usually would be when they’re in Korea. Since Ren had heard that Exo-M had made their way back to Korea for a very important meeting, Ren took this chance to try and find Tao. He made sure of keeping the box with the cake safe, he didn’t want to give Tao a smashed cake. He had gotten up early just to make it himself, so it would show his sincerity. But he didn’t want anyone but Tao to eat it though, especially since Lay was in his group. He went through the corridor searching for the right room. He looked at every sign, finally finding the right room he took a deep breath before slowly opening the door.

~ Tao’s POV ~
 

We had finally taken a break from dance practice and I was just about to drink some water when the door slowly opened. Everyone turned around to see who it was. It took a little while before a head slowly appeared, peeking inside the room. That blonde hair didn’t make it hard to recognize who it was. He slowly entered the room; he was holding something behind his back. He looked around the room and soon enough our eyes met. He smiled brightly and walked towards me. I must say that I was quite surprised that Ren had come here. But when he stood in front of me I couldn’t help but smile when I noticed Lay’s shocked expression. This was really fun to see actually…
 

“Hi! I’m sorry if I’m disturbing you when you’re practicing but, I just wanted to congratulate you for debuting…”
 

He shyly smiled and then reached out the box he had been hiding behind his back. I gladly accepted it, giving him a smile back.
 

“No, you’re not disturbing anything, in fact we’re just having a break. Thank you. How have you been?” I said while glancing over at Lay, who seemed to become jealous. Well, suits him right…
 

“I’ve been fine… but if it hadn’t been for your help, I probably wouldn’t have been…” He looked really cute when he was blushing a bit. I really can’t understand what Lay was thinking when he let Ren go…
 

“Do you two know each other?” Kris asked while getting closer to us, placing his arm on my shoulder.
 

“When did you two get close?” Chen asked.
 

“Ah… it’s a long story…” Was all I could say. The others just looked at Ren as to see if he would add something, but he only nodded as an answer.
 

“Well… you don’t have to worry about a thing! You’re safe here with us.” Kris added after a while.
 

I had totally forgotten that there was this huge fan war going on right now, and that we’re not really supposed to be getting along with the other new groups. But I didn’t really care about that. You should be able to meet whoever you want, without rumors spreading like viruses. I was happy that the others accepted Ren like this; it made it easier to get closer to him…

~ Lay’s POV ~
 

I was just standing there like a fool again. Why is Ren here to meet Tao? What exactly happened that day? Tao hadn’t even told me if he had found Ren or not. I felt a bit guilty; I haven’t even explained it all to Ren yet. But here he was, even happier than he had been with me…
 

What exactly was going on? And why did I feel like this… it seemed almost like I was… jealous? Why would I be? I just shrugged at the thought. I already have Chan Yeol, so why would I have these feelings… I stared at Tao, thinking about what could have possibly happened when he ran to find Ren that day…
 

Suddenly Tao looked back at me and then he just smiled creepily at me. I got goose bumps, and hurriedly looked away. He certainly was enjoying this… making me feel like this, was probably part of his plan to make me regret leaving Ren… When Tao suddenly hugged Ren I couldn’t help feeling angry and sad at the same time. He’s doing this to get back at me… He was definitely succeeding with his plan… I was jealous, seeing how he was hugging Ren lovingly right in front of my face like that.
 

Ren had been avoiding getting close to me, not letting me hug him whenever I felt like it… but then Chan Yeol had appeared; he was letting me do anything I wanted. Which became the reason I preferred being with Chan Yeol…  
 

But now all of a sudden Ren was showing a whole new side, it really made me irritated to not be the person making him act like that… It was really getting on my nerves…

~ Ren’s POV ~
 

I felt really welcomed here, everyone was nice to me. We were talking about a lot of things when suddenly Tao grabbed my arm.
 

“Let’s go somewhere else, so we can talk.” Tao said while pulling me with him. I waved to the others and then gladly followed Tao. I saw Lay staring at us and I just smiled one last time, earning a surprised reaction from Lay. I followed Tao outside; we were walking towards a small park just around the corner of the dance studio. He led me towards a bench and we sat down. He had brought the cake with him and unpacked it. He looked at it amazed before looking at me.
 

“Wow, it looks really delicious!” Tao looked really happy.
 

“I made it myself this morning…” I blushed a bit when I noticed Tao’s expression.
 

“You did? It looks amazing! Really, thank you!” I just nodded after hearing his compliment.
 

I couldn’t help but smile when he tasted the cake, and looked like he was eating something heavenly. I looked down so he wouldn’t see that I was blushing madly. This felt different from when me and Lay was together… I really felt comfortable around Tao, and he didn’t do anything to make me feel bad. Is this how real love felt?
 

Suddenly I felt Tao putting cream on my nose, so I looked up at him.
 

“What did you do that for?” I was surprised of his action but he only laughed, which also made me laugh. I tried to clean it away but Tao stopped me. He looked me deeply in my eyes before slowly getting closer to me. He kissed away the cream from my nose, and I couldn’t help but blush even more than before. Then he put my head on his shoulder, holding me tightly.
 

“I’ll never leave you; I promise you that you’ll always be safe with me. No matter what happens, I’ll always be here. Trust me. I’ll never let you get hurt…” Tao patted my head. It made me feel happier than ever before. I snuggled closer, before taking his free hand in mine.
 

“I do trust you, because I really… like you…” I closed my eyes and we stayed there for quite a while. Just holding each other’s hands, not letting anyone disturb our time together.
 

“I like you too.” Tao said and all my worries finally let go.
