Sooyoung likes picnics by the Han River. She likes pitching up a small tent and hiding under it to eat ramyeon and snacks. It’s the one place she can hide from the world and just be herself.
But right now she doesn’t have that. What she has is a sad bag of pastries underneath the rain that she wanted to throw out but doesn’t have the heart to. How could she when the person she loves loves that bread more than anything. Her heart aches as she stares at the rain pattering against the plastic.
Who is going to stop her? Her manager isn’t around. Her team isn’t around. God forbid her CEO has the time to monitor her eating.
The feelings inside make her feel empty.
So she pulls out the bread. There’s a variety of panda shaped and panda themed breads in honor of Fubao. It only reminds her of her girlfriend. Out of spite, she opens up the bread with the panda face and rips off an ear to shove into .
The bread tastes good so she takes another bite and another and another. It doesn’t stop her from being sad and it doesn’t fill the emptiness in her heart.
“Yah, why are you eating bread?”
Sooyoung shoots her attention over to the familiar voice.
Seulgi is wearing her oversized raincoat while also holding an umbrella. It’s almost laughable if she wasn’t Sooyoung’s dork. Even though she’s upset, seeing Seulgi makes her feel better.
“What are you doing here?”
“Why else would I be here?”
Seulgi doesn’t often answer a question with a question, but lately she’s been trying Sooyoung. The late nights, the short texts, the busy schedule. To be fair, Seulgi isn’t the only busy one because Sooyoung is chronically scheduled, but she hates the distance that she feels between them.
They don’t feel like them when neither of them have time.
Seulgi reaches for her hand and Sooyoung can’t help but lace their fingers together and be dragged by the older girl.
There is a tent for two. And inside, a small table of a single bowl of ramyeon and some juice and waters.
