Summary:  Woohyun ran from the present, the past, the future, he always ran in every life he knew of.

Run. That instinct ran into Woohyun’s head and he reacted within a second. Running as fast as his feet would take him down the dirt path. His heart jumped in his chest, he pumped his legs faster. The woods raced pass him in a blur of green and brown.

Run.That’s all he thought what he ran from he didn’t know. His instinct told him it was a predator one that he would never escape from.  Faster his mind urged and he compiled nearly throwing himself off the ground. His subconscious was sensing a danger he had long forgotten.

Him. His memory from a past life told him. It’s him the one we always run from but never…

Never what? Woohyun wondered as that voice faded. Sweat poured off him and the strain of run as starting to get to him.  The wood around blurred and multiple visions layered upon each other.

The cement pounded under him and his ratty shoes….the soft moss scrunched as his deer skin slippers touched ground…. The fire-red sky as her broken heels clicked the stone bricks… her bare, blistered feet pressing cobblestones…

A thousand lives of memory. Woohyun has always run from him as a male or female. When he was in elementary he ran in track training trice as hard as the others. Run. His body always told him that he needed to be faster. That for him that running should be flying with his feet kissing the ground.

“K ugh” he coughed, his chest constricted. The memory overlapped again.

The air ran through the tattered shirt as he ribs tightened… his heart burned and the velvet cloth stuck to his chest… her corset was thrown through the sky but her chest still burned… her chest bandages ripped as her breathe forced out…

Woohyun was never normal. He always knew more than most. History played through his head like the present. He knew the pains of a woman, of pregnancy. He knew the strife of man, of blistered skin from lifting stone. He knew so much yet he was a barely a man.

Snap. Woohyun’s eyes flickered to the sound. The most beautiful person he ever saw was behind the trees. The most perfect legs he ever saw.

Fingers like magic…. The eyes of a beast…the charm of knight… the soul of a devilHis past lives told him. Woohyun pushed forward with the boy flying behind him.

The devil jumped through the concrete jungle a hair’s with from him…the beast stalked a breath pace from him… the nightmare moved like a shadow chasing her…  demon hunted her only centimeters away…

Woohyun crashed through a clearing and the boy landed a step away. Something clicked in Woohyun’s head the boy was called Sungjong in this life. Woohyun dashed towards a cliff ready to throw himself off. Better to die. His mind spoke to him. Sungjong grasped his collar…

Josh Walker jumped over the building’s edge a fistful of tattered cloth ended up in the devil Cain’s hand. Akah! A howl ripped from Cain’s lips full of pain… Swift Deer plunged into the sea water burned down his throat. The nameless beast broke out in a silent scream that twisted into a sorrowful cry, an inhuman cry of emotion… She dropped in a ditch, Lady Isabel Chandelle ran into the stake filled pit rather than to be tainted by the nightmare. The nightmare fingers held the air just above her delicate fingers once were, out from his body came a moan of utter desperate and loneliness…. Xiao Feng ran a staff through her heart, she could never let it land in that demon’s hands. The demon Meng Jian pulled the staff from her body but her heart’s last beat had already ended with his hands soaked in her blood trails of tears stained his cheeks…

Sungjong cupped Woohyun’s bicep and pulled back. He flew into the boy’s tight embrace. Sungjong’s body became a wall around Woohyun with the boy’s head resting above his. Tears, hot and passionate, flowed from the boy’s eyes and Woohyun had the strangest feeling to kiss them away. Sungjong was cold to the touch freezing although he knew no warmth from the sun. Crying and cold, boy showed no radiated a loneliness, a pain thousands of years old.

Suddenly Woohyun didn’t understand why he always ran why he was so afraid. There was nothing to be afraid of. This boy would never hurt me. Woohyun returned Sungjong’s distraught embrace with a kinder, warm one. The heat slipped from Woohyun’s body into Sungjong’s. Woohyun looked at Sungjong staring and Sungjong kissed his lips. That touch sparked a flame in Woohyun that flew into Sungjong. Woohyun suddenly grew cold as Sungjong’s body seemed to burn.

His vision started to fade… his minds turned to rubbish… a drowse came to him… suddenly he knew that Sungjong was his life away… then a stream of memory erupted through his head.

“Josh.” A pretty girl called his name yet he felt no emotion.

Shocked Josh laughed saying not tonight. He looked at the clothes he wore they were a far cry from the wealth he was raised in. He was a hobo in the most basic terms. He was a charmer of women and slept in many bed yet tonight why did he chose the sewers? Cain that man jumped into Josh’s head. Only minutes ago a handsome man handed him ten bills the time before five. Cain as Josh remembered was a dark haired devil cruel to all yet kind enough to give a homeless man a few bills each day? That enough sparked suspicion but Josh couldn’t turn money down. What plagued Josh was that dark-haired devil was evading more and more of Josh’s thoughts...

Swift Deer was the fastest messager in his village. Once on his runs he saw a pale haired beast he was never to talk to. That beast always examined him with a steady gaze which he returned. Every time Swift Deer left his village he would hope to see the beast even would have this desire even after he grew into manhood. Soon it came time for the ceremony. The days before the ceremony’s start Swift Deer would no longer see the beast small pangs of pain jumped his wrist at that thought. Soon he along with the rest of his village’s men would for suitable match and wed. For the slightest bit of time the white beast’s gaze entered his head and confusion came after it…

Isabel howled pushing that life out of her small frame. Agony rippled through her core and sweat poured out. Her child refused to come out and she prayed to the lord it would. She only desired for him to leave her body if she felt this pain anymore she was loss her grip on life. Suddenly the pressure in her stomach ended then almost instantly a new pressure replaced it. The agony and weariness grew pain radiated her tiny frame. Then once more relief she could breathe now. When her eyes opened her landed on a nightmare with those silted eyes he eclipsed her children’s birth for a fragment of second…

Feng refuse to be a woman. She spoke in a crude manner and learned the ways of the warrior. Her father never wanted a daughter so her whim of being raised as a boy was fulfilled. When her womanly features came in her began wrapping her chest and faking a mysterious illness to keep her guise. She was a man in her soul but once he was placed under the new general the strangest thing happened. When her eyes touched General Jian something blossomed in her chest, warm and lively energy.

Woohyun mind was clear. In this moment as his life slipped from his fingers he understood something. Every life he ran from Sungjong and the emotions he evoked in him. Fearful he escaped to death while Sungjong suffered. Sungjong survived lived and waited for him… that was an oddly comforting thought to him. Although Woohyun’s life was nearly gone he was calm and held Sungjong tighter. His fingers finally relaxed and a peaceful expression came over his face. Sungjong hugged his body tighter and felt himself age. He felt centuries of pain and sorrow and faded peacefully into oblivion with Woohyun. Thud their last heartbeat echoed through the clearing. A light glow wrapped kindly around the two embracing figures. The glow brightens and the embracing figures slowly morphed.

Woof-woof. Searcher dogs combed the wood looking for to missing boys Nam Woohyun and Lee Sungjong. They ran through the woods. In the middle of the once empty clearing were two entwined tree strong and powerful reaching for the light yet never letting go of the others embrace.

Interesting and confusing, these were the two words that passed my mind when I was reading this, it was a mixed feeling of understanding and lost when I read the flashbacks. But in the whole the story is nice. Thanks for sharing.

Basically Woohyun's running because it's his instinct to do so. As he runs he's remembering the reason why he's running... aka flashbacks of his past lives.<br />
And yes they love each other~ I hope that helps.
