Be Ready
Kindergarten is Hard, Especially for Grown Ups"So, I heard my daughter did something unnecessary. I'm sorry if Haru made you uncomfortable. I told her to keep that Valentine's card at home and make a new one, but, well... you know how she is."
Donghae has a bashful smile on his face as he sits on the edge of Eunhyuk's desk.
"N-No, it's fine, really."
Donghae nods and hums, contemplating Eunhyuk's answer. He leans back against his hand, his body stretching out into a lean line, and gives a teasing grin.
Donghae has to know that that's no good for Eunhyuk's heart.
"... So, you're okay with what was in the card then?"
Eunhyuk flushes red. "I'm-I wouldn't be... opposed to the idea."
Donghae laughs. "Haru just got to ask you before I did myself. Never thought my own daughter would beat me to the punch."
Eunhyuk is sure his face could ignite a fire at this point. He hopes Donghae doesn't notice.
"I know it could be a conflict of interest at the moment, but Haru finishes kindergarten in only a few days..."
Donghae lifts Eunhyuk's palm and runs his thumb over his knuckles. Donghae presses a soft kiss across his fingers and Eunhyuk feels a quiver in his core at the gesture.
"Until then, I'll wait to ask you out properly. Is that alright?"
Eunhyuk's mouth gapes open. "What happened to the cute, clumsy guy? Where did this smooth man come from? This is unfair, I want a refund..."
Donghae bursts out laughing. "We can talk about that refund later."
Donghae winks. "But only after our first date."
Eunhyuk huffs, but nods.
"Great, be sure to keep the 23rd free."
"Technically, you haven't asked me out yet."
"Well then, be ready this Friday for that too." Donghae exits the class laughing, leaving behind a blushing Eunhyuk.
