Foreword

Sometime in the 15th century...

"You want to end this after 10 years," a girl with jet black hair wearing a blue royal hanbok said in between sniffs.

"Don't misunderstand me Soomin-ah, you know how our families are right?" the crown prince in his royal robes said to the young noblewoman.

"So you are abandoning me after endless promises of keeping me safe?" the girl raised her head and stared at the young prince with tears b in her beautiful blue eyes, a rare occurrence in Joseon.

The tall royal just bowed his head in response. He was also trying to contain himself.

"Where will I go Chanyeol? My family is dead, your people will hunt me down and kill me. You will just let me die like this? After all the love I gave you!" Soomin screamed with a mixture of anger and fear in her voice.

"I am sorry my lady but you won't understand."

"Then make me! I promise I'll listen, I don't want to stay away from you Chanyeol. I am scared" the tears couldn't remain in the eyes anymore.

"Please take care, there is a carriage for you a bit far away, it will take you to a safe place" he started to turn away.

"You said you liked me! You told me that you loved me! Your Majesty! You don't have the right to do this! What about the honor of our vow?" she scream-cried at the crown prince's back.

Little did she know that the boy was swallowing his tears. It was painful for him too, to part from his lover. But what choice did he have? Park Chanyeol, 20, a talented Royal crown prince who recently discovered the bitter truth of his existence. He was a werewolf and once he turned at the night of the eclipse, he could hurt her, or worse kill her. He wouldn't stop even if she escapes once. She wasn't safe with him and he needed to protect her even if it meant turning his heart into stone.

"Leave! Leave Choi Soomin! We are done!" he howled expressing fake anger.

"Bu-t I-I c-an't" she sobbed bitterly crashing on the grass clenching her heart. It was a deserted field that was only used by the lovers for secret dates since they were 10. She still hoped for him to come running towards her but he didn't. She could see his tall figure becoming smaller and smaller as he moved away through her blurred vision.

Should she be angry or heartbroken? She simply didn't know what to do. How could he throw their 10 years of relationship since the age of 11 into nothing? He promised her a lifetime, that he would keep her by his side forever but now she was deserted and would probably be murdered the next day. There she was weeping under the moonlit night with no trace of the living. She knew a carriage was waiting for her at the end of the field but she didn't want to leave. If she was destined to die then so be it. She would make him regret leaving her but maybe he didn't care?

Her trail of thoughts was interrupted when a dark figure stood in front of her. With the anticipation of seeing her lover, she shot up her glance. But to her horror, she saw a tall girl who was wearing dark clothes. Her red eyes were glistening in the moonlight and she had a sinister smirk plastered on her face.

Soomin could feel her dark aura. "Wh-o a-r-e y-you?" she stuttered.

"I'm your worst nightmare honey" she scoffed.

Soomin quickly stood up knowing she won't be able to escape from this monster but she had to try. She went for a run, though it was the stupidest idea at the moment, it was the only choice she had.

She kept running and running trying hard to catch up with her breathing. But, she couldn't hear anyone behind her. She turned her head to glance one last time before being sure. To her bad luck, she bumped into another girl with those same red sinister eyes.

"Tch Tch, you can't escape princess," she said jokingly but her tone was cold. Soomin turned in another direction but she realized that she was surrounded by four such girls. The dread crept over her like an icy chill, numbing her brain. In that frozen state, her mind offered her only one thought,

"There's no way out"

"Please let me go" she pleaded trying her last shot to save herself.

"No can do sweetie," said one of them, and before Soomin could process anything she felt a sharp blow on the back of her head. Her vision started to blur. She remembered the devilish grin on the girl in front of her while the rest were sneering as she fell on the soft moist grass. Her last thought was a prayer. A plea that all this was just a bad dream.
