Chapter 1 - Birthday Present

 

Haneul’s POV

 

I was standing in front of the SM Building waiting for Yumi. She was supposed to be here ten minutes ago. I wasn’t that

 

surprised though since she’s usually at least five minutes late. I heard quick footsteps coming my way and I looked up.

 

“Haneul ah!” Yumi ran over to me while taking deep breaths. “Sorry (gasp) I’m (gasp) late (gasp).”

 

I sighed. “It’s okay Yumi. It’s not like you’re late all the time,” I said in a sarcastic tone.

 

Yumi pouted. “I’m really sorry. It won’t happen again!”

 

“Yeah, sure.” I replied. *Psh. Liar.* 

 

Yumi grabbed my arm and a few minutes later, we were standing inside Super Junior’s dance studio. 

 

“Why are we here again?” I asked.

 

Yumi lifted the bags that she brought. “My mom wanted me to bring some food for the oppas and I bought some clothes

 

for my brother since they’re making their comeback soon.”

 

We sat down and waited for the SuJu oppas while listening to music. It was no surprise that we were listening to DBSK

 

since Yumi liked them so much (Even though her own brother is in Super Junior). I had no idea why girls loved idols so

 

much. I mean, their music was nice, but idols all looked the same to me.

 

Suddenly, the door creaked open. 

 

Yumi and I stood up. 

 

“Oppa!!!!” Yumi ran over to Sungmin and gave him a long hug. I could tell that they missed each other a lot. They were

 

really close siblings. 

 

Sungmin looked up and smiled at me. He came over and patted my head. “How are you?”

 

“I’m good. Don’t mess up my hair oppa,” I joked.

 

He laughed. “You girls haven’t changed a bit during the past few months. Anyways, why are you guys here?”

 

Yumi pointed towards the bags by the corner wall. “We brought you food.”

 

“Food???” The Super Junior oppas grabbed the bags and started eating.

 

Yumi whispered into Sungmin’s ear, “I brought you a present oppa.”

Normal POV

 

After Yumi gave Sungmin his clothes that she had bought with her mom, they all sat down and ate together.

 

“So....” Yumi started a conversation. “Guess what today is?”

 

“What?” Everyone asked.

 

“You really don’t know?” She exclaimed.

 

After looking at the confused looks, she sighed, “Never mind.”

 

“Guys. It’s Yumi’s birthday.” Sungmin said.

 

“Mwuh??? How could I forget?” The Super Junior members started panicking. Yumi was like their own sister and they

 

forgot about her birthday.

 

“Oppa. Did you know already or did you realize right now?” Yumi asked.

 

Sungmin smiled. “Of course I knew. That’s why I have a present for you.” He took out two tickets from his pocket and

 

handed them to her. “Happy Birthday!”

 

Yumi peered over the tickets and her eyes suddenly widened. “INKIGAYO??? Oh my god! DBSK is making their

 

comeback today! Oppa! Thank you so much!” She attacked Sungmin with a big hug.

 

On the other hand, Haneul was staring with wide eyes. How could she forget about her best friend’s birthday? She

 

mentally slapped herself on the forehead.

 

She turned her head over to look at Yumi. 

 

“Haneul ah...” Yumi said with aegyo. “Come with me to the Inkigayo concert today!”

 

“Go by yourself. You go to those concerts a lot.” Haneul complained.

 

“But those are just regular concerts. This one is special. I’ve never been to a DBSK concert before you know. And you

 

forgot my birthday! You should at least go to the concert with me to make up for it.”

“Fine...” Haneul finally agreed.
