Winter's POV

 

I woke up earlier than usual as I had many things to cater for my dearest Karina's birthday.
I open my phone and send text to the people whom I needed to inform to make sure that everything is going smoothly according to what I had planned and I find that its going just perfectly fine.

I felt quiet excited and giddy on what is to come and I can't help myself from thinking about it again and again.

April 11

Today is a very special day for my lovely girlfriend Karina and I will make sure that I am going to make this day more memorable than ever.

A birthday she would never forget



Karina's POV

 

9:16 am. The time on the clocks reads. I woke up late, yet again. Thank goodness today is Saturday because if not, I would probably be absent from my work again.

I look beside me and saw that my gorgeous girlfriend is busy on her phone. I smile looking at her composed and relaxed self.

"Good morning my Rina, you woke up late again" she greeted still looking on her phone and I rolled my eyes on her, which I know that didn't go unnoticed by her

"Stop rolling your eyes, babe. Go brush your teeth and let's eat breakfast when your done." she said

"Okay" I said and went to her side to give her a peck on the cheeks

"Go hurry, Rina. I'm going to prepare our LATE breakfast" she said laughing while emphasizing the word late and I laugh along

"Yeah yeah" I said and she goes out to our bedroom to prepare our breakfast downstairs

Not bothering to go to the bathroom yet, I check my phone if there's any important message or call that I needed to attend to and notice that there's nothing.

I saw that today is April 11 and we both seems to forget that today is my birthday? If today is my birthday then why Winter hasn't greeted me yet.

I was distracted from my thoughts when I heard my phone suddenly buzzed

You have a message

I look at my phone and notice that my co-worker Somi sent me a message. I open the message and it reads

From: Somi

Happiest 25th birthday Karina. I will give my gift on Monday.

Happiest birthday!!!

Oh, so today is really my birthday. But my family and friends didn't sent me their greetings and most importantly why Wintet hasn't say her greeting yet. Could they all forgot it? But it never happens, not even once.

Oh my gosh!

I didn't even bother to go to the bathroom as I quickly went downstairs, to the kitchen, were Winter is at the moment.

I saw her cooking and humming to a song. I look at the table and notice that she's almost done to her cooking as there are already cook eggs and sausages and two cups of empty coffee mugs. I was about to ask her a question when she put the freshly cooked fried rice in the table.

Nothing special on the table. Did she really forgot it?

"Oh Rina you're finally here, let's eat." She said pouring the coffee to the mugs

"You didn't brush your teeth aren't you?" she asked without looking at me

"I did" I lied

"No you don't. Look at your face, you didn't even wash your face." she said shaking her head

"Nah. Do it later after we're done eating. I'm so hungry." she said as she take her sit and I also took my sit as well

"Win, are we forgetting something?" I asked her as I look at her

"Do we?" she asked back and I felt quiet frustrated

"Seriously, Win?" I ask dissappointed because how could she forgot this day

She can forget any dates but not this date. Ughhhh

"I don't think that I am forgetting something Rina. Mind to remind me of what I forgot?" she states and I felt really really dissappointed

How could she forgot it, to all people? Really?

"Nothing"
 

 

Winter's POV

 

"Oh Rina you're finally here, let's eat." I said as I saw her

"You didn't brush your teeth aren't you?" from the looks that she have, she absolutely doesn't even went to the bathroom

Goodness Karina!

"I did" I know she's lying and we both know that she's lying

"No you don't. Look at your face, you didn't even wash your face." I said shaking my head at her

"Nah. Do it later after we're done eating. I'm so hungry." I said as I take my sit and she did as well

I actually felt really hungry since the time I woke up but I decided to wait for her since today is her birthday. If it just any normal day, I probably have my cup of coffee and a toast of bread and eat a little bit more when she wake up.

"Win, are we forgetting something?" she asked me and I know that she's very bewildered on why I hasn't say my greetings yet

On our birthdays, we always greeted each other the time we woke up but today is different. I chose to pretend that I forgot her birthday so that I wouldn't spoil my surprise for her later.

I'm really sorry Karina, I hope you wouldn't get mad at me

"Do we?" I asked and I felt really sorry as I look at her sad face

How am I going to continue this for the rest of the day?

"Seriously, Win?" Oh my oh my she sound really disappointed on my answer

You can do it Winter. You can do it.

"I don't think that I am forgetting something Rina. Mind to remind me of what I forgot?" I asked her and look at her clueless

Sorry Rina Sorry

"Nothing" she said and I know that she's really really disappointed on me right now

I have to pretend for the sake of my surprise. I didn't it would be this hard lying on her. I felt bad and I feel like wanted to say it to her but I don't want everyone's effort to put on waste.

A sudden ring on my phone pulls me out of my thoughts and I saw Rina looking at me with a raised brows.

Ning

Ning is calling me and I saw Rina mouthing 'who' and I lied saying its a co-worker.

"I'm going to take this call first" I said standing up from my sit and I know she's wondering why I am leaving because we usually answer phone calls wherever we are

"Just answer it here, Win" she said giving me a look

"Okay" I said as I can't really argue with her on that

"Hello?"

"Win, you have to come here fast. There's a big problem" Ning said on the other line and I felt like I went pale on that

"Okay. Give me an hour." I said hanging up

"Rina, I'm so so sorry I have to go, something came up" I said and she only nod at me

I quickly went upstairs to our bedroom and take a bath as fast as I can. After fixing myself more, I went downstairs where Rina at and saw her watching netfix on the living room.

"I'm leaving. Bye" I said as I give her a peck on lips and she only smile at me

"Take care, bye" she said and I went out of the house and dial Ning's number

As I wait for Ning to answer the call I immediately went to my car and put the seatbelt on. After a few more rings, Ning finally answered.

"So what happened?"

 

 

Karina's POV

 

I felt really disappointed on Winter right now. How could she forgot this day? She never forgot my birthday. And now there's an emergency on her work, how am I supposed to celebrate my birthday? Am I going to celebrate it alone?

Right. I can call my bestfriend, Giselle. But she seems like she forget it as well.
