"here's your prescription for the pain medication," seungwan told her patient as she handed the piece of paper, "do ask my nurse outside, lia, for additional instructions about the prescription and i'll see you again next week for your follow up check up, okay?"

seungwan's patient smiled and nodded before standing up to exit her clinic. once alone, she ran a hand through her short brown hair, smiling to herself, feeling fulfilled.

just a few minutes after the door closed, it opened again, lia, her nurse-slash-secretary, poked her head, "hey, doctor shon, miss kang is here," the nurse told seungwan with a grin as the young doctor was busy pulling the last patient's file from the cabinet.

the name instantly brought a smile to seungwan's face. "please do let her in, thanks lia!" she says as she excitedly waited for her favourite person to open the door. it's always a pleasure to have her girlfriend come visit her at work.

"hey," comes the greeting from her visitor, "i brought lunch," seulgi says, bringing a packed lunch up.

"hey, i was about to call you," seungwan greeted back, "thank you," she added, walking towards her girlfriend by the door, giving her a peck and gently pulling her into her office. "let me just finish that last consultation summary, and we'll go eat somewhere else," the young doctor says as she let seulgi take a seat.

seungwan was walking backwards towards her table when seulgi grabbed her wrist, "no,"

"no?" seungwan asked, a bit confused, "what?"

"it's already a quarter past lunch," seulgi says stubbornly, "im hungry,"

the young doctor fought a smile seeing this rare side of her girlfriend being stubborn, or dare she say, whiny. seulgi rarely gets fussy or imposing and only gets to be like this when she's having her period or as she said herself, hungry. plus knowing seulgi is only comfortable to be like that with her.

"come on, baby, it would just take a few moments, i might miss noting something from the consultation if i don't do it now," 

"no," seulgi says adamantly, "it's way past lunchtime now doctor shon, and i haven't eaten because i was preparing this and i know you forgot to eat again,"

seungwan is pretty sure she can perfectly pen down the consultation summary later, and she's contemplating doing just that—but no, it wasn't because she can't say 'no' to seulgi, it's totally not that—she just feels the need to follow her work routine. or else it'll probably make her feel uneasy while eating.

however, it feels more burdensome to make seulgi wait some more knowing that her girlfriend made the effort to prepare lunch for her and come to her just to eat together..and that both of them are probably starving.

"let me just—" she started to say but seulgi suddenly spoke again.

"—come on now, wannie, you don't want to starve the baby, do you?"

wait.

pause.

what?

"what?" seungwan finally voiced out, feeling blood drain from her face. did seulgi just say 'baby'?

"i said: you don't want to starve the baby, do you?" seulgi repeated.

"what do you mean baby!" seungwan yelled in panic.

"huh?" seulgi asked dumbly.

inhaling, seungwan walked back the short steps towards her girlfriend, "seulgi," she called, crouching towards seulgi's seat "baby," she says slowly, "i know we have a healthy life, but what do you mean baby?" she asked. the doctor doesn't know what the hell is happening but she feels like she's about to have a mental breakdown.

seulgi still looked confused as she tilted her head to the side, "huh?"

"seulgi, we are both girls, we can have all day and all night and we still won't have a baby, so what baby are you talking about?!"

as if a lightbulb moment, seulgi blinked, "what the heck are you talking about?" she asked, then pointed to herself, "me." she says, "im talking about me. im the baby." she finishes.

the young doctor sighed heavily, "you…" she started, she doesn't know whether she wants to smack or kiss her girlfriend right now.

giggling, seulgi placed both of her palms on the side of seungwan's face before eventually lightly pinching the squishy cheeks, effectively making the doctor make a funny face. "you are so cute, doctor shon," she says before leaning in for a peck, "..and a bit of stupid too. why would you think id be pregnant, do you think your fingers are that magical to get me knocked up?" she asked with a chuckle before letting go of her face, "you're probably hungry that's why your pretty and y brain is not working properly." she finished as she patted the doctor's hair before standing up.

shaking her head on her own stupidity, seungwan exhaled a laugh, "you're probably right," she said before standing up from her sitting position. "okay, let's eat now,"

seulgi's smile and her hand was already waiting for hers when she turned, she gladly took it, feeling warmth throughout her whole being.

others would say that between the two of them, seulgi isn't the nurturing type but at times like this, seungwan thinks that the two of them fit perfectly well together. sure, normally, she would be the one nagging seulgi about the domestic things at home but seulgi knows exactly when and how to take care of her. 

and realizing this now made seungwan think that maybe she wouldn't mind having a baby with seulgi in the future.

well, until later when she tasted seulgi's packed lunch and realized her girlfriend put sugar instead of salt on the dish because she got confused by her own shenanigans of exchanging the labels to "confuse the ants".

..or maybe not really.

because even when her stomach was rumbling with barely edible food, seungwan found herself not minding it a bit because she felt that seeing and teasing the flustered and embarrassed seulgi while waiting for their orders at a restaurant nearby is something that she won't get tired of.
