Chapter 1-6

A Time to Surrender.

Chapter 1: Blank

The distinctive sound of her heels clack against the floor.

Clack...Clack...

"Would you look at who we have here." My eardrums burst as Krystal's shrill voice pierces the air.

"Oh.

Hey Minji, didn't see you there!"

She pauses.

Smirk.

"What am I saying? Of course I can't possibly miss you.

Considering what a

F A T  P I G

 you are."

She spits out the word fat and the word pig rather venomously.

I lift my head up and look at her blankly.

Then...

I smile.

H I L A R I O U S.

That is, Krystal thinking that her insults had any effect on me at all.

"What are you smiling for?!!

You creep!!"

Of course I won't give you a reaction.

I'm not letting you have that satisfaction.

I continue to stare at her, with my face completely...

Chapter 2: Knock That Down

"You had the nerve to do that yesterday...

You must think that you're tough or some ."

As Krystal continues on,

insult after insult

                                                   r

                                     a

                                                        i

                                           n

                                                            s

                                                                      down upon me,

but I just tune all of them out.

That is, until Krystal jeers at me something unforgivable:

"...not unlike your of a mother".

I instantly react to this jibe;

after all, who would just stand there and watch as someone insults their mother?

My mother,

the woman that has painstakingly raised me.

With her weathered hands,

blood,

sweat,

and tears,

she works an insurmountable number of late night shifts, all in order to support me.

My mother,

the woman who never says I-love-yous,

for she knows that words speak louder than actions–

the woman that has fed,

clothed,

and lovingly cared for me,

for fourteen years of my life and for so many more to come.

With this in mind,

you could imagine the wrath I unleashed on Krystal,

the girl who dared to stain my mother's name with her abhorrent lips.

With one swift kick, I easily knock her down.

After all, how could Krystal fight against me while she wobbles in stilettos?

Krystal falls to the floor.

I cackle.

Chapter 3: The Mealtime Splatter

Don't be scared...

Don't be scared...

3...

2...

1...

Inhale...

Exhale...

Say something!

".

Do you really think you could scare me with these?"

They squirm as I bite into them.

Crunch.

"Delectable!

Would you like some?

I smile at the girls, looking Krystal directly in the eye.

They all look at me as if they want to gag, and before they knew it, the substance splatters all over their faces.

The girls start squealing like pigs as they make a mad dash for the door.

In the meantime...

I'm already in the bathroom, washing out the rest of the worm intestine from my mouth.

Chapter 4: The Boy Named Taehyung

[Her Darkest Moments ⏳ Day 01]

Twirl. Plop.

My gaze trails the pencil as it rolls forward,

and while the students around me clamor about,

I focus only on the plucky little tube that seemed all too determined to jump from my desk.

Just as the pencil reaches the edge,

I finally lift my head up to see the subject of clamor

a boy by the name of Taehyung

Supple hair, Ruffled.

Dreamy, Entrancing.

In a daze, eyes glazed,

A puppy full of innocence.

"What a handsome lad!"
Adults would say as they tousle his hair

A boy with a nose that was all too big, yet could only add to his charm

Something tugs at the corner of his lips.

A smile, perhaps?

I shudder.

An eerie sensation had overcome me,

as if something inside the boy,

something so insidious

and so wicked,

had reached out for me—

an evil that was buried deep within, waiting to be unleashed

Chapter 5: His Beloved Wife

[Her Darkest Moments ⏳ Day 02]

Clap. Boom.

A thundering voice.

A man towering over a woman, shouting in rage.

Veins that pop out.

Garbling on marbles,

The. Man. Sputters. As. He. Shouts.

"THIS IS OUR HOUSE!

I PAYED FOR US TO LIVE HERE,

NOT FOR YOU'RE STUPID

FAMILY TO COME OVER HERE AND MESS UP MY BELONGINGS!"

And this, my friends, is the morning I woke up to.

A morning in which my father, face beet red, was taking joy in terrorizing his beloved wife for...what...?

Feeding him? Putting a roof over his head?

With red eyes, my father was a crazed man

with an all too forceful voice that circulated the air,

cornering and suffocating my mother—

she was his prey,

a deer in headlights.

I watched over the scene fearfully, praying that he wouldn't resort to any form of violence.

After all, he certainly didn't hesitate to in lashing out at my sister.

Knuckles white, I gripped my cell phone tightly;

I had to be prepared to call the cops at any given moment.

Chapter 6: Gym Time

[Her Darkest Moments ⏳ Day 03]

Scoreboard

0-27

Cheers erupt in the room as Taehyung scores another point,

but not to the detriment of our team, however,

for we hadn't even managed to score a single goal yet.

We stood on the sidelines, watching the boys play a game that was an odd mixture of soccer and basketball.

We on the sidelines could also participate in the game if the ball came into our area.

I look up to see Taehyung shooting down the court again, coming towards my area.

I rush out to greet him,

quickly kicking the ball down to the other side of the court.

“Damn it. What the hell?!”

Heh.

The other girls almost give me a high five until they remember we were enemies.

Well, at least they’ve been acting a lot nicer now ever since Krystal’s been stuck in the hospital.

As Taehyung begins to run in the other direction, the timer goes off.

Zzzzz!

“Whoo hoo! We won!”

Taehyung's teammates grab him and toss him into the air, stopping only once our teacher screams at them to put him down.

Taehyung,

the transfer student:

a sociable,

straight A+ student,

with a face that has “friendly” written all over it

In merely a month, he had won over the adoration of everyone’s,                       teachers and students alike
