Chapter 1: Well, that was depressing in the first half. All that laid out there. Society truly is so ed up, that they care so much and want to police which consenting adults choose to love each other. The pressure celebrities in South Korea – and guaranteed not every one of them are straight – endure to conform to heteronormative standards, at least in public appearance, it's just too much. Not to mention how much worse it is for idols, who the industry has baked in with an unhealthy parasocial fantasy for fans to feel like they own them just because they buy their albums and go to their concerts. And many of those fans have proven to act just as entitled and toxic when anyone comes out even in a heteroual relationship or gets married. So coming out in a same- relationship is even more unthinkable for an idol, let alone it being hard enough for the average citizen. Even though the younger generations are becoming more progressive and accepting of homouality, the sick fan culture still has a long way to catch up. Fiction is usually a fun escape from these realities. :(

At least here, despite all that was lost, Suju were still supportive. Donghae and Hyukjae had them, (and probably still their families and true friends who had already known and supported them before the public knew,) as well as some of their most loyal, sensible, and supportive fans. And they had each other, most importantly. They had a new home they made in LA. For their enduring love. They're still the same hopelessly annoying perfect couple. Bickering, flirting, making everyone in a 10 mile radius feel single, no doubt. But more freely. Love that for them. All is indeed well that ends well. ♡

Chapter 1: Well this was an interesting take, all the hate leading into disbandment, but then they take a different life path. Yet in the end all is good, as long as they are happy. Thank you for this <3

Chapter 1: A very realistic view of what would probably happen if idols came out as gay but I’m happy still had a happy ending for my OTP.
