Doppelgänger

The snow outside has gotten completely melted by the spring sun.
Seonghwa and his girlfriend are standing outside of the clothing store looking at the clothes on the mannequins.
She looks at the black, sparkly dress.
"This dress is so beautiful." she says.
"It reminds me of the night sky." he says.
"But I don't know if I can afford it."
"We'll see tomorrow."
"I hope I'll look pretty in that dress."
"You do look pretty right now." he says, making a smile appear on her lips.
"Well... let's meet here tomorrow at 1 PM." she says.
"Alright, see you."
Then both of them go home.


The sky has darkened outside.
He is sitting in the office room of his house, where he usually sits by the table and writes things down in his journal.
His journal has a photo of her as a bookmark.
The photo, he took of her in the Pink Rose Café when they started dating.
He writes down about the day today on the blank page.
His heart flutters as he writes about how she smiled when he called her pretty.
Then he finishes writing.

His stomach feels empty, so he goes to the kitchen, wanting to get something to eat.
He is shocked when he sees a stranger sitting there at the kitchen table.
Two wine glasses with red liquid are standing on the table in front of that mysterious person.
The mysterious stranger is wearing black clothes, a hat and a few long necklaces.
"Who... who are you?" he asks.
The stranger looks at him.
He notices the person's nose and lips being covered by a black face mask.
The person removes the mask showing his entire face.
His face looks familiar to him.
Then he realized that he has seen that face in the mirror.


The doppelgänger takes one of the glasses, swirling the liquid.
"Have a drink too." he says to Seonghwa with a soft voice.
He wonders whether to trust him or not, but takes the other glass, looking at the liquid.
He puts it close to his nose, smelling the alcohol.
"Cheers." the stranger whispers.
They take a sip of the glass at the same time.
Seonghwa feels the sweet taste of wine.
He empties the glass and puts it back on the table.
"What kind of wine is this?" he asks.
The doppelgänger is silent, while a smile slowly forms on his lips.
Out of a sudden, Seonghwa gets dizzy and faints.


He wakes up, realizing that he isn't in the kitchen anymore.
He gets up and notices that he is in a cage made out of glass.
A cage in a dark, empty room.
His heart flutters from fear.
"Is anyone here? Can you hear me?" he says, while knocking on the wall.


She is standing outside the clothing store.
She looks at her watch.

Her heart flutters as she thinks about his handsome face and his lovely voice.
She can't wait to try the dress.
The doppelgänger walks over to her, wearing blue jeans and a white button down shirt.
A smile appears on her face when she sees him.
He takes her hand, making her blush.
"Hello, my pretty."
